Please help a Blue raise cash for Charity

Postby sweenyuk » Mon Jun 20, 2011 5:49 pm

My Friend Andy Walker, 33, broke his neck five years ago in a diving accident in India. Although paralysed from the neckdown, Andy’s attitude remains unbelievably positive and he dedicates his time working for charities whom provide support for people with spinal cord injuries... Helping them to regain their independence as he has himself.

Andy and a team of 15 of his friends have set themselves an unbelievably demanding and courageous challenge in their attempt to raise money for the Back-Up Trust, a charity which helps people like Andy see their potential & provide the support needed to have a full & fulfilling life... So they are going to push his 6ft 4”, 14 stone frame up by Wales’ highest mountain, Snowdon!

One participant from who took part in last year’s Push said: “Physically it was the hardest thing I have ever done. I still hurt! I wouldn’t have even contemplated climbing Snowdon if I was on my own on such a miserable day but that is what Back-Up is all about - pushing the boundaries.”

Andy would be delighted to receive your donations and keep you informed of progress up the mountain (event to be completed on 9th July, 2011).

Donations can either be made via the sponsorship form or via the JustGiving webpage:

On behalf of Andy and his team, Many Thanks!
