German giants Bayern Munich have bid for teenage Tranmere Rovers striker Dale Jennings and negotiations are ongoing.

Rovers boss Les Parry has confirmed that the Allianz Arena side have made an offer for the 18-year-old, who is interested in the move.

Liverpool-born Jennings only made his first-team debut last September in the home draw against Charlton and made his first start the following Saturday at Colchester.

He made a total of 32 appearances last season for Rovers, scoring six goals, and Bayern obviously consider him a potential star of the future.

Great move
Parry told Tranmere's official website: "I'm not too sure how close it is, but it's moving along. It's not just paper talk, they have put a bid in.

"Like with all transfer deals they say they'll give us a penny and we say we want three and then we fight over the difference and that's where it's at the moment. They're keen to get him over there and it's a great move for the lad.

"I've spoken to him and he's interested. Who wouldn't be?

"If you look back at the number of young players who have had the chance to go abroad to one of the giants of Europe, there's very few English players who have done that. It's a fantastic opportunity for him."

you dont often hear about our young players going abroad, cant say I know anything about him

I can tell you he made 32 appearances and scored 6 goals last season. Born in Liverpool I think.

Ex Liverpool trainee, who was subject to 500k bid from Everton in Jan window. I think it was Paul Dickov who said he is a very talented kid and will be a top player, if he is given a chance. Linked to a few clubs.

I have a mate who is a big tranmere fan and all he goes on about is how good Dale Jennings is. Been forced to watch a lot of his goals and ive gotta say he does look like a good talent.

Far too good to stay at tranmere anyway...

I've got a couple of mates who are Tranmere fans and rate him very highly. I went to Prenton Park a couple of times last season and in both matches he was quite quiet.

I think he should stay at Tranmere for another season because last season was his first year in the team. Also he isn't going to get a look-in at Bayern's first team and will end up coming back over to England, 2-3 years down the line having not played and his career would have stalled without playing many games. From Tranmere's point of view, can definitely understand why they are keen to get the £1.5m or so they have been offered for him
