Alessio Cerci will be a sort of Italian Adam Johnson sosia. Left footed who plays better on the right I hope he'll become a good replacement in our next long long season!

Nope.

Apparently though Mancini was quoted last year as saying Cerci is the best young wide player in Serie A. Could well be signing numero uno this summer.

Interesting first signing indeed if true.

I love getting players from Italy.
They always work out.

The rule of thumb in Italy is....If negotations go quick and easily then usually the player is shit.

Bianchi wasn't shit.

He was misunderstood.

Cool, it appears we have unearthed the Italian Jermaine Pennant talent-wise.

Gab Marcotti says squad player at best. I struggle to see how this guy is better than anything we have, but we will see if he does sign. His main attribute appears to be that he's Italian and plays in Seria A.

Underwhelming if true.

Every team needs them I guess. Park, Benayoun, Kalou, etc.

We need to try and improve on what we have, not get also rans. I know its tough to keep them all happy, but thats the job of a top manager. We buy someone most of us have never heard of and the Rags buy a quality player we would have loved to have in our team.... that's not closing the gap, that's letting it get wider IMO.

I hope we have a few aces up our sleeves.....would be funny if the rags, chelsea and liverpool fell foul of the FFP rules next season and they made up the top 4 with us though :-) (I know I am dreaming but, let me)

Man City close on Cerci deal

Manchester City are reportedly very close to signing Fiorentina winger Alessio Cerci for €7m.

According to Sky Sport Italia, Cerci had already been very close to an Eastlands move last summer, but opted for Fiorentina instead.

Now it’s reported Man City are back in the hunt for Cerci and have even thrashed out a deal worth €7m.

It would be a €3m profit compared to the money Fiorentina paid to take him from Roma 12 months ago.

Although Cerci scored several crucial goals in the closing weeks of the campaign, he also launched a broadside at the Fiorentina supporters.

He claimed he was never welcomed in Florence and always jeered even when he did well because he is from Rome.

Cerci has been nicknamed ‘The Thierry Henry of Valmontono.’
