Tranny wanted to join us if Mourinho left Madrid

Cristiano Ronaldo was willing to consider a move to Manchester City, but will not leave Real Madrid while Jose Mourinho remains in charge.

The Portuguese winger was the subject of reported interest from free-spending City earlier this summer, with record-breaking transfer fees and bumper pay packets discussed.

Ronaldo responded to the rumours by hinting that he could be tempted back to England if the price was right.

He has, however, sought to play down any chance of that happening this year by insisting that he will not leave the Santiago Bernabeu while countryman Mourinho is overseeing events in the Spanish capital.

Ronaldo said in the Sunday Mirror: "It's flattering to be offered £20million a year - it's very good, but I spoke to my agent and I think it's better to stay in Madrid because this year we're going to be the best. This season we are going to be a big force.

"Jose Mourinho is staying at Madrid so I stay.

"If he went to Chelsea then I would have left. I would have gone to Manchester City. But now he's staying, I'm staying."

Now that's a tuff one.
Fantastic player without a doubt.
But everyone hated Ronaldo when he was at United.
I know loads of blues who dispized the guy and would be very unhappy if we signed him.
Right out of the horses mouth there though.
Would you have him at city considering his past.
No doub't the new fans would snap him up in an instant, but for us more longer supporting fans, would you have him?

I'd be delighted to have him.

Arrogant twat.

Having said that I think if there was a chance of Tranny or Messi, Sheik Mansour would just empty out his loose change pocket straight away.

This just proves how big city are now though.
Having players like Ronaldo mentioning us like this, he is by far there best player and currently the joint first best player in the world atm if you ask me, on a par with Messi.
If tranny was playing in that barca side, i wouldn't bet against him being better then Messi.
But to comment like this saying he would leave real for city if probably the best possible compliment we could get.
Rattle alot of them reds up too.

Agreed. It shows he doesn't give a flying fuck about them, which is sort of nice. There's me thinking only City employed mercenaries!

Alot of players miss the competitiveness of the premier league and the atmosphere.
Could well be his last season in Madrid who knows but with the transfer budget getting pulled in after this season, i doubt well get him then.
Should of swaped him for Tevez.

How FFPR pans out, if at all, remains to be seen. Already read one article about how it's responsible for the current cagey, transfer market. And it hasn't even started yet.

Clubs will go bust. Everton will be top of the list, but across Europe there will be many. Then of course they will have to censure AC, Inter, Real, Barca and Juve (Aguero on their gates and revenue LOL?) just to start with. Before they realise it's an unmitigated disaster and pull it altogether,

These quotes are apparently originally from Daily Mirror. I'd be interested to hear why Tranaldo gave them exclusive interview during his holiday.

I remember that paper inventing interviews of our players urging Ronaldo to come to Madrid. One in particular was Casillas saying Ronaldo should be brought to Madrid when in reality he was in Senegal doing charity work and said Real Madrid should buy mainly Spanish players.

Utter scum of a paper but it's not the only one in Britain and honestly I don't know how they get away with it. The level of journalism in Britain is extremely poor.

Just saw some news on tv and apparently Ronaldo denied this story on some of those chat sites or whatever it is

Whilst I agree, the quality of journalism (and some of the underhand tactics) in Marca and Sport is no better.

There is no doubt about this lads ability, but when questions have been really asked of him he doesnt deliver, eg champiuons league against barca all he did was sulk n moan n give excuses after the game whereas Messi let his feet do the talking. I wouldnt want him to be honest ethically its just not right

I stopped reading Marca ages ago for the same reason and I have no observations on Barcelona's dailies they always been 2nd rate shit gossip papers. I think the problem in Britain is a lot bigger than the one in Spain regarding journalism I have a fairly good knowledge of Sky and I think they are sub standard media with poor pundits.
