Your starting XI next season?

This is based on 'possible' potential realistic signings too.....

This would be my ideal starting XI next season.

.................... Hart .......................

MR2 .... Komps ....... Lescott ..... Clichy

.............. Yaya .... NDJ ..................

Nasri .............. Silva ........... Balotelli

................ Tevez .........................

Bench: Random GK (no idea), Savic, Zabaleta, Milner, Barry, Dzeko, AJ

I'd drop Yaya a little deeper to accommodate Nasri and Balo and drop Barry to the bench. I'd expect we'd have so much possession that Yaya would be given a license to get forward if he wanted to so he wouldn't be restricted. I chose MR2 over Zab because I love the idea of Clichy and him using their explosive pace on each side. Flying full-backs overlapping providing width - exactly what we need. Their mere presence will stretch the game. Nasri, Silva, Balo and Tevez can all go wherever they want - Barca-esque 'Tiki-Taki'.....

I'd be tempted to take Barry of the bench too and put Kolarov on their just because he'd give us more offensive options.

I think that team though would destroy most. Strength, pace (Nasri and Clichy would add loads), skill, determination, leadership, maturity. We'd be formidable.

Outside a few players (hart, vince, captain), I doubt there will be a starting 11, just like this season. Teams will be picked based on form, fitness, importance of the match and the opponent. Against quick wingers, I'd expect to see Clichy, with Kolarov getting the games before or after and similar will happen around the rest of team.

yeah you'd hope so, because it would be a real shame for players like adam johnson and zabaleta to become 'second string'. it's a long season and we're in a lot of competitions, they'll all be needed. what i don't want to see is a 'carling cup team' and a 'champions league team' i want to see quality peppered through the team in every single game injuries permitting. getting seriously excited about it all now!

Oh no I agree - I was just saying if I was to pick my ideal XI regardless of who we are playing I'd go for that.

I do expect, and appreciate, the need for changes though. I'm looking forward to the rotation.

I guess we can scratch Tevez off now though and put Dzeko in instead haha - or Yaya further forward, Balo up front, and Barry back in.

Don't worry...we can bring Jo onto the bench. Crisis averted.

Some of that excitement just wore off.

Without speculated bullshit maybe's;

..............Hart................

Zaba....Kolo....Komp....Clich

..............NDJ.................

........Yaya......Milnr..........

Jnsn........................Silva

............Dzeko................

I'd be sorry to drop Lescott given his end to 10/11 but Kolo has the knowledge and experience to fill the personality that Vieira was.
(Plus he'd be in the side within a month or two as we rarely have a fully fit/available defence)

Your reason for including Kolo is bizarre, seeing as Vieira was always on the bench - why can't Kolo do the same role on the bench too?!

Kolo Toure will still be banned at the start of the season and will be till early September I think.

I also think Tevez will still be at City going into the opening day of the season, and we won't have bought any replacement by that point. Therefore Carlos plays.

Richards--------Kompany---Lescott----Clichy

------------------De Jong---Barry

Johnson-------------Yaya------------Silva

----------------------Tevez
