I think this is even more embarrassing than Michael Owen's 'brochure' when looking for a new club!
http://www.metro.co.uk/sport/oddballs/8 ... d-new-clubThe Canadian-born England international, who was blighted by injuries throughout his Old Trafford career, has embarked on a social media internet campaign to prove his fitness to potential suitors.
He has releasing footage of himself ‘working out’ in a bid to navigate what could be a tricky free agency for him, given his recent fitness record.
You may snigger, but let’s not forget how Michael Owen infamously bagged himself a move to United with his jaw-dropping 32-page brochure, which highlighted his ‘ brand values’ - among other things.
Now Hargreaves may not be proclaiming to be as ‘cool’, ‘clean', 'fresh’, and ‘good looking’ as Owen, but he certainly shows he can still dance on a treadmill and go past cones like they were inanimate objects.
Metro Sport salutes you Mr Hargreaves!
Although maybe start with a DVD in the post next time…

He doesn't even look that in shape. In the second video hes throwing his feet forward, rather than placing them, and he looks winded at the end!
The signs of a truly desperate man

I have to admit that I do feel a bit sorry for Hargreaves. Got a lot of shit, undeservedly so, when he first started playing for England. He seems like quite a nice guy. Obviously it goes against him that he's been 'playing' for them, but I actually hope he does find a decent club, perhaps on a pay as you play deal.

I do fancy a bit of time off work! Might give this DVD a go. Hopefully I'll tear my groin or something.

I actually like him as a player, he got so much sh*t from england fans and went and proved them all completely wrong.
If he can get fit he'd be an excellent signing for a solid midtable premiership club

Unperturbed by his free agent status, Liverpool have made a £14M bid for him.

Behave. He he.
I actually had to eat humble pie over Hargreaves because he turned out to be about 5 times better than I thought he was before seeing him for England. Seeing him in the flesh for the rags I thought he looked head & shoulders their best midfield player & he was nowhere near fit. If he'd been 100% fit I recon he would have become an absolute worldbeater for them.
Ha.

If he had played for any other club, I'd have a lot of sympathy for him.

yes without a doubt. id find it ridiculous if anyone seriously thought otherwise about his ability (when fit).

Hargreaves, when fit, was an excellent player.
It must have been especially pleasing for him the way he turned the England fans around. At the 2006 World Cup he was our best player. I was at the quarter final when we lost to Portugal and he was the only player out there who truly gave a shit, his effort was phenomenal and after the match every single England fan in the ground was chanting his name.
It definitely is a shame his career has been interrupted by injury. However, there is a slight satisfaction that it was United who spent all that money on him and didn't get any benefit at all!

Well, we'll have to agree to disagree then.
And Owen Hargreaves...

Fair play to him for not just packing it in and heading off into the sun with the millions he earned sitting on the sidelines. Must've been a frustrating few years for him and I think he has a point to prove to himself as well as everyone else.
He seems to be working hard and hopefully someone gives him a go. He was a super player at Bayern and was great in a CL final.
Good luck to him.

yknow...available on a free...why wouldn't a lot of PL clubs take a punt on this guy? i can't imagine that half of the league wouldn't be better with him if he is actually fit.
surely his physical issues over the last few seasons would put off the top clubs, but you'd figure the Newcastles, Sunderlands, Evertons and Villas of the world should have him in for a workout and see if he can do a job. i would have him in to have a peek at him if i were running those clubs. we've got better and don't need the risk, but at the risk of sounding arrogant, most don't tbh.
