Was always on the cards, especially with the introduction of the FFP rules.

Hope they don't own the Condomdepot.com or dick's sporting goods store!

No confirmation of the amound but it says it will be the biggest in history, which is impressive consdidering the shirt deal is only worth £2.3m a year.

Farmer's Insurance have just signed a deal to sponsor the new LA football stadium to be built next to the staples center at $700m over 30 years.

There's also:
Citifield, home of the Mets, $400m over 20 years
Reliant pays the Houstan Texans $10m a year
Lucas Oil pay the Indianapolis Colts $121m over 20 years

What about this:

Cue some shitehouse rag infested red top paper taking the piss becasue they think Etihad means U**ted in Arabic. I would just love it if the sponsors agreed to loads of advertising around and in the ground but allowed it to be named the City Stadium.

This was bound to happen and I'm perfectly happy if the final outcome is the Etihad Stadium. From a commercial point of view I don't see the point for Etihad but if it brings a load of cash in to help with the FFP rules then that's just fine

I wish that french twat would kill himself in a choke wanking "tragedy" and the whole ffp rules fucked off and left us to ruin football.

But as it goes etihad stadium is OK, The etihad arena would sound better though.

With a bit of luck, the freeloading, cheese gobbling, wine guzzling cunt will have a heart attack & die before long.

Whatever, we'll soon be back to full steam ahead ruining it again, even at youth level.

The Etihad stadium sounds shit. Leave it as Eastlands. What happens if we change sponsor, are we going to have to keep changing the stadium name? It's pathetic

It's not even called 'Eastlands' though, numpty. The current name - the city of manchester stadium - is completely naff.

I'm fine with the Etihad Arena or whatever. It's simple. Doesn't effect me. I have no emotional attachment to Eastlands/CoMS personally....if it was Maine Road still maybe I'd feel different - as it is, i don't!

They can name the stadium what they like but for me it's been EASTLANDS since before we moved and always will be. All the newspapers and the media also refer to it as EASTLANDS its now endemic
