City playing a friendly with Vancouver Whitecaps on July 18th. Have tickets, will travel. An "away team" section has been set up, I hear. I hope a few City fans show up. Looking forward to this!

Now then lads and lasses,
I stumbled on this site recently and am so glad I did! I'm a die hard Blue born in Manchester lived in Kelowna for the past 5 years and dead chuffed that the boys are coming to Vancouver!
When I booked my tickets through the whitecaps I was told that there has been a lot of CITY fans requesting tickets so much so that they are looking at offering up to another 3,000 ..........should be a good game and I hope the boys come meet the fans too.

Welcome to the site Bluebird. I'm sure your local knowledge of Vancouver will come in very handy for any Blues on here who are going over for the game!

Thanks King Kev and Mr_Mool :)
Originally the tickets for City were part of a 5 match Whitecaps pack so you either went to watch to all the games or didn't see City at all...WTF?
They seemed to have a change of heart for some reason (maybe the fact that so many of us wanted to go) and started offering them on ticketmaster for individual sale - the only problem with ordering them there is that seating is in the general stadium - not what we want really so my guess is that offering them direct from Whitecaps means you're allocated a seat in the City end.
This is based on conversations with a guy call Kevin Mark, their account manager and for anybody who hasn't got tickets yet........here's his email.
Hi Manchester City Supporter,
You may now order tickets to the Vancouver Whitecaps FC vs Manchester City match on July 18th. To order tickets, please contact me at 778-330-1364. The total price of the tickets is $67.25, and the supporter’s section is located in sections 228 and 229 in Empire Stadium.
Looking forward to seeing you all there!!

Cheers! Was a bit surprised to hear that City would draw so much interest / have so many fans on the other side of the world ...

There's actually shit loads of us - if you're on the City website, there's a section "be part of it" where you can register your location etc...and Vancouver is full of blues.

For all you blues, there's a meet up in Oscars bar - East Hastings Street, 3.00pm - it's a couple of blocks from the ground and should be fun. Hope to see as many of you there as possible :)

Not sure how well that pitch would play even in perfect conditions, they've just laid turf straight on top of waterproof sheeting which is in turn just laid on the original AstroTurf?!! Lee Jackson would have a heart attack
