Just started watching Brazil - Paraguay and RSC wasn't in the line up. Then checked that he had been taken off 39th minute in previous game. Is that fucking Barbie doll broken again? We'll never be able to get rid of him FFS. I know we made tens of millions losses on him in wages and fee but I just want us to get rid of him ASAP. Even if it's on free and get nothing back. Just as long as I don't have to see that clown anymore.
Same goes for Jo mind but at least he isn't always fucking injured so we have at least a CHANCE to get rid of him.

Brazil could have done with Jo last night!
Word is he's off back to CSKA on a season-long loan.
As for Santa he looked OK in the first game, then that was that! At least he didn't moan all the time.

Probably the stupidest signing we've ever made. Feel sorry for him as a player, mind.

There is some serious competition.

good player...he's just made of glass, i still find it hard to believe we paid 17.5 mil pounds plus his huge wage. whoever negotiated for city in this deal needed a kick in the rear end.

No he isn't. And itäs not even matter of opinion. He is a player who once had a good season. To be precise, half a season.

Actually, thinking about it, it was a stupid mistake at a time when the club could afford to let them happen. There have been worse (even if they didn't cost half as much), but I'd never been so sure a player was going to fail here as I was with RSC.

Looked the business against Brazil with a goal and an assist and then the all too familiar happened.
It's sad for the chap he's made of glass but more frustrating we spent so much on him.Hughes is completely to blame he just would not take no for an answer and kept on upping the offer.Every man and his dog was stunned at the price Hughes pushed throught to bring him here.Shocking piece of business.

Competition yes... but I genuinely think given his price tag, he wins it... all day long.

Can't stand the fella, he was/is always too busy giving interviews to anyone that will listen rather than getting fit. Great one season signing for Blackburn for a bargin £3mil ... thats it football careerwise, just give him away, pleeeeeeeeeeease

I actually thought he looked fairly decent in the WC last summer. I was delusional in thinking he might play a bit part role last season on the back of that.
Cheers

We could afford the money. The opportunity cost was huge though. We ended up with too many big money forwards and he was signed before Tevez and Adebayor. Hughes wasn't able to keep them all happy and performances dropped. He lost his job and the building work was setback. The chance was missed to form a working team around a key bunch of talented players and we continued to earn a reputation as dilettantes in the transfer market.
We had the guts of a seriously strong team of attacking players, even if some of them have subsequently fallen from grace: Elano, Robinho, Tevez, Adebayor, Ireland and to an extent Bellamy. Buying an injured forward that he had a personal like of (a so called favourite) for so much money was destabilising, even if he behaved professionally.
It wasn't all RSC's fault and yes we could afford the money to build a team to challenge for the Champions League twice but we could have built a stronger team than we currently have for less money than was spent and we might have a year of Champions League behind us rather than a year of Europa Cup.

Thats not even true, he scored a load of tap ins for half a season! He just got lucky and managed to find a manager who loved him!

Bad signing. Yes. Worse than Macken, Fowler, Bob Taylor and Vouso? Not a chance.

I can remember Macken scoring the winner against Spurs in THAT comeback. Fowler cost us around £6million and got a few goals against United, especially the one right in front of the rag twats and then went on the celebrate in front of them prompting one of the twats to try and jump over the barrier to get to him.
Santa cost us £17 million. What has he done that you can remember?

Fookin daft signing..I mean why buy someone who was recovering from a knee op? He's unsellable so hope we can cut our losses and let him go for free.

Very little but it was money we could afford to lose.
The signings of Fowler and Macken nearly bpt us into administration and had zero sell on value. More annoyingly we had Dan Van Buyten on loan and couldnt afford the tiny fee they wanted for him because we jizzed all our money away on Fowler 6 months earlier.

That and he was using us to put himself in the shop window - had no intention of signing here and wanted away from Marseille.
