Agüero's agents are only working toward City

Hopefully the closure of one long-running saga will lead to the closure of another, all this week.

http://www.sport.es/es/noticias/liga-bb ... 3299.shtml

Whatever happens he will not return to Atlético, although everything indicates that he's put himself in something of a complicated situation. The player has told those close to him that he will reveal his future in the next few days, although he gives the sense that he may be bluffing. His representatives are only working toward the option of Manchester City who, for now, have not launched any official bid, and are seriously wondering if the really want to go to €40M for the player. If they wont, he'll have put himself in a great mess.

The days go on and Agüero hasn't clarified his way out of Atlético. He stated that he will announce his destiny after the Copa América, and events have been precipitated by Argentina's elimination. Because of this, his agents have spent weeks camped in Europe offering the player to all and sundry. And the only club that's up for it are City, although they know that the player can be obtained at a reasonable price because no-one else is entering the race.

At the moment the English club knows they are in a good position. The player has refused to wear the red and white again and there are no more offers. In England the indications are that they will present a very low initial offer and take it from there, but never reaching the €45M release clause. City are very relaxed and first have to resolve the departure of Tévez before fixing any major signing. Kun is their priority, but they aint going to go mad.

Meanwhile, Kun has started to get impatient. He knows that he has burnt his bridges and everything indicates that he did it because he was misled. Someone made him think that he could sign for Madrid, but the whites have declined the opportunity. Either that or they are playing a very long strategy whereby Atlético have no option other than to accept an offer from them to avoid bigger problems. That seems too risky at this moment.

Agüero's idea is to fly over to Europe immediately to see what's happening. Whatever happens he has made it clear that he will not be attending pre-season at Atlético, so the solution must be found pronto. At Atlético they are also starting to worry about what may happen and are starting to realise that they will lose money in this operation. The great summer soap opera is reaching it's conclusion.

Fuck me mate, good job I've got a few minutes to spare today! Anything to avoid those horrible online things though.

The elimination of Argentina from the CA affects Atlético. The club was hanging on the result, as the future of Agüero is at stake. Club and player can now directly address this soap opera. With the elimination of Argentina, Atléticao has gained a week to find a solution for Kun's future. And that is impòrtant above all regarding finding a replacement center-forward. The club's intention is to finish with all Agüero business this week. That is to say, before the Europa preliminary.

Everyone knows that Kun is history at Atlético. His last statements in which he always said he didn't want to carry on at the Calderón, have bothered Atlético. Above all the fans. But also the directos and his team-mates. Even Clemente Villaverde exploded in Alcalá de Henares: "The words of Agüero show him for what he is".

The destination? Juve didn't offer what Atlético asked and Real declined to enter into a local war. the relations are currently good and there is no reason to court unnecessary controversy. City is the only club which has the finances to sign Agüero. Gil Marín has spoken with the English club's representative. There will be no discount on the clause: €45M, also there may be conditions. The same occurred with De Gea to Scum. Atlético didn't climb down from the 45 million from the first instance and it doesn't look like they are going to now.

In Alcalá, Kun carried on being just such a big star as Manzano and the like. Caminero was to meet yesterday with the Atlético players eliminated from the CA: Perea and Kun. We will have to see if the Colombian is in the Europa preliminaries. The most fanatical fans asked yesterday that Kun come to Madrid immediately to join the team. that will not be the case.

His agents will negotiate his exit to City. The hour has arrived to finish the Agüero soap opera. Falcao and Rossi come to centre stage. And Osvaldo waits in the wings.

Falcao o Rossi saltan a escena. Y Osvaldo está a la espera.

Don't fuck about City! We've spent stupid amounts of money in recent years on absolute shite, so just get the deal done so he can have part of a pre-season with us!

The ideal replacement.I would be thrilled if he joined us a fantastic player.I would not feel the side had been weakened at all if he was to take Tevez place.

I know its a short time frame but really hope this can be done before letting Carlos go.

Aguero is about the only player who can fill Tevez's boots, seems very keen to join us too.

It'll be like replacing Tevez with a younger, less bitchy model.

Plus we will get the bonus of Maradona attending games. Pretty epic that.

I have a feeling many will not believe he can fill Tevez boots but i really do think he can, he really is a top player already and potentially can still get a lot better. It will be a huge coup by City if they can pull this off.

I wonder if we're waiting for the weather to pick up before we invite him over to discuss terms. Failing that, we could always talk to him in Barcelona aka Heaven on Earth.

I totally agree we need to sort things out as quickly as possible but I also think he's going to need some time off after the Copa America. The Argies going out early is a bonus for whoever he is playing for next season in that it brings him forward ten days or so.

All the signs - and clubs like Atlético are as leaky as a sieve when it comes to their intentions - are that all this will be cleared up this week.

When Bobby was talking about Nasri I believe he was misquoted a little. He said Nasri was under contract at Arsenal and it would be difficult. But he also said "WE NEED PLAYERS, and I would like to get.....": and here he actually said 'this player' - "here by the end of the month". However keen Bobby-watchers will know that he was most likely cutting his s's, and what he was actually saying was 'these players'. This was taken by Whinger and others to be referring directly to Nasri, but in fact I believe he was just referring to everyoneanyone coming in.

I dont think any party will be dragging their heels now on this, once Tévez is out the way - and that HAS to be done by Weds night because of the Brazil transfer window.

I know very little about him, but the positive comments on hear are really encouraging. Tevez was immense, just brilliant. If he had stayed, I think we were in with a shout of the title.

Well heres a comparison......going in this we have fuckall to worry about..infact...its a great swap.

At just 23, Aguero is four years younger but has already scored 121 goals in 281 appearances for club and country (0.43 goals per game).
Tevez, by comparison, has scored 101 in 262 (0.39 goals per game).
Euro jackpot
Aguero has scored 16 goals in 34 appearances in European competition. Tevez has scored six in 33. Could Aguero be the key to City’s success in the Champions League?
Twenty-twenty vision
Aguero was joint third top scorer in the Spanish league last season — his 20 goals eclipsed only by Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi. Tevez came top of the Premier League chart with the same
number. Remarkably, each scored 33 per cent of his team’s goals.
One for the team
Tevez directly contributed to 43 per cent of Manchester City’s 60 goals, whereas Aguero scored or assisted in 35 per cent of Atletico’s 62 goals in La Liga last season.

Goal machine: Aguero has been a regular scorer for Atletico Madrid
Vital statistics
City have never lost in the league when Tevez has scored, drawing twice andwinning 25 times. Aguero’s goals in the last two seasons came in 15 wins, four draws and six defeats for Atletico.
Golden boys
Both men have won Olympic gold medals with Argentina, Tevez in 2004 and Aguero in 2008.

Aguero is a technically superior player to Tevez.

If he can quickly develop a good understanding with either Dzeko or Balotelli we could well be getting the thick end of a good wedge for once.

I don't know about technically SUPERIOR but pretty much as good. Aguero is also quite strong same way as SWP is strong ie he will not be pushed off the ball easily and can win some balls. He covers as much grass as Tevez do. Only real difference is that I think Aguero has even MORE bit of magic about him than Tevez but on the other hand Tevez is more willing to drop REALLY deep to pick up some balls.

the one thing i haven't noticed in the 5 or 6 times i saw Aguero in the last 2 seasons is that ability to score the "goal from nowhere" that Tevez has. Sounds like you've watched him a bunch more than i have...what do you think of his ability to snag a goal from seemingly nothing? Tevez is one of the best at it...it's the one bit of magic i think we may still miss even if we bring Aguero in, but i hope i'm wrong.

Same here, and it's that kind of ability which matures with age.

Something that needs to be realised is that all would-be world class strikers / attacking midfielders from Argentina suffer the pressure of being compared to Maradona.
This kid not only copes with that pressure but has even had to learn to face him over breakfast.
