Manchester City Football Club is delighted to announce that it has teamed up with the global sports video game company, EA SPORTS, as its new partner.

The deal was announced at EA SPORT’S campus in British Columbia as part of City’s summer tour activity in Canada and is unprecedented in both its scale and scope within the computer game industry.

The partnership between Manchester City and EA SPORTS brings fans closer to the action than ever before. As part of the agreement, dedicated MCFC virtual content will be distributed through the Club and EA SPORT’S digital channels, including MCFC match simulations prior to the fixtures and unique visuals of the City stars in action.

"For the first time in the studio's
history, it has created a virtual kit
launch and this is just the first of a
series of content innovations that EA
SPORTS will create for Manchester City
fans. Club supporters can now watch
the team play in the new home kit and
score a goal for the very first time this
season."

The video, which is currently one of the first FIFA 12 gameplay edits available, was designed especially for Manchester City fans, showcasing the Club’s stars. Having captured 360 degree 3D headscan shots of the entire first team squad, EA SPORTS have for the first time recreated the most authentic representations of the players, which will be featured in the eagerly anticipated UK release of FIFA12 on the 30th September 2012.

EA SPORTS will also be investing in dedicated experiential gaming areas, in around the Etihad Stadium, to further enhance City Square and the family zone within the concourse.

EA SPORTS is the world’s leading interactive entertainment software studio, which develops, publishes and distributes interactive software worldwide for video game systems, personal computers, wireless devices and the Internet.

Nick Harford, Football Business Lead, EA SPORTS, said,

“We are delighted to be entering into a dynamic new partnership with Manchester City. Through this agreement, EA SPORTS will invest in the creation of bespoke content and experiences that bring Manchester City fans across the globe closer to the team they love.”

Ian Cafferky, Chief Brand & Commercial Officer for Manchester City Football Club added:

“EA SPORT’S reputation is unparalleled, both within the video game industry and around the world. The fact that a company of EA SPORTS calibre has joined our stable of valued partners, shows a clear indication of the Club’s growth and appeal to a global audience.

“Many of our supporters, not to mention first team players are huge fans of FIFA. The deal with EA SPORTS was therefore a natural fit and the beginning of what I know will be an exciting partnership.”

A behind the scenes video will be released prior to the launch of FIFA 12, on 30th September, giving fans the opportunity to download an exclusive and unique free Club specific pack design.

More to the point every member of the playing squad has now been 3D scanned so all of city now looks lifelike.. no more generic player faces for us!

Add to that we will have the option of downloading a City based Fifa12 front cover too!

No more fucking shrek on the cover! Bloody marvellous!

Love it!
I don't for one minute believe that Silva would be able to take the weight of Milner on his back :-)

..or that Silva would have scored that volley. Hit it into the ground and over the bar more like. Bless him. Still love you David.

It looked realistic until I saw Silva putting the ball past the keeper in five yard box. That's never going to happen. As brilliant player as he is, he simply is no finisher.

Blimmy, I'm no gamer but that looks impressive. Was the action chosen to be against Arsenal just to piss Wenger off a bit more? I bet he reports us for this!!

I usually pick up a new Fifa game every other year. Now it looks like I am going to have to break that cycle and pick this one up.
