Three more signings

Any guesses anyone? The mysterious Mancini says we need 2, maybe 3. And before the Charity Shield. Aguero + X + Y

Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini says he is looking to bring in two or three quality players to the club, regardless of whether want-away skipper Carlos Tevez is sold.

Mancini is believed to be on the verge of making an offer for Sergio Aguero, as the Atletico Madrid front-man is seen as the perfect replacement for his Argentina strike partner. However, the City boss has indicated that he would be willing to bring in Aguero even if Tevez remains at Eastlands.

"I think it is really difficult to buy any players because all the good teams want these players,'' Mancini said on Sky Sports News.

"But I hope that before the game against [Manchester] United [in the Community Shield on August 7] we can have all these players.

"We have two, three targets but it depends. We need to improve because we are at the moment a few players [short] for competition and we need to have other players.''

For the time being at least, Mancini still has Tevez and the manager is adamant he is still welcome at the club.

"At the moment Carlos is still a City player, like yesterday, like three days ago,'' he said.

"In the future we will see what can happen. But for us Carlos is an important player.

"Carlos wants to leave, wants to come back to Argentina or maybe another country for his family. It is only because of this I think that the club accept to sell Carlos, because I think that we respect his reasons."

Tevez, on holiday after Argentina were knocked out of the Copa America, is said not to be "overly worried" by the collapse of his move to Corinthians.

Reports in Italy have suggested the striker met with Inter Milan sporting director Marco Branca on Wednesday, while his representative Kia Joorabchian is confident new bids will come in for the striker.

Crazy to say this but we actually have quite a thin squad right now.

Gk's:
Hart
Taylor

Def:
Clichy
Lescott
Zabaleta
Kompany
Richards
Kolarov
Savic
(Onuoha?)

Mid:
Toure
Silva
Johnson
Milner
Barry
De Jong
Wright-Phillips

Str:
Balotelli
Dzeko
(Tevez?)

That's 18 senior players. 20 if you count Tevez and Onuoha but they are probably offski.

I honestly think we need depth especially in midfield and replacement for Tevez of course. And back up keeper.

Dubciteh has it right.

One of them has to be a sub keeper, then a striker to replace Tevez (hopefully Aguero), and a creative midfielder (Nasri, Schneijder?). Strange that we went into the window needing a decent left-back and a winger who can actually stick a decent cross in, and one of those doesn't look like being addressed.

Why not bid for Stockdale at Fulham? I was impressed when I seen him play last season.

Even Marcus Haneman would be a good short term option

Aguero deal is looking a strong possibility now not so sure about Nasri as Wenger in desperation mode and is really digging his heels in on this one.

What do you guys think od the De Rossi link?

Undoubtedly a fantastic footballer but plays in an area where i would not really have been expecting us to look to strengthen.

If we were to sign him i would be delighted but feel it would force someone like Barry into a far less prominent role, maybe even being the call upon player like Vieira.

What I think about De Rossi? I think that while he is electric player defensive midfielder isn't exactly a huge need and I'd rather we concentrate on Nasri who is more positive. Also, De Rossi is fascist nazi cunt so I would find it quite hard to cheer him, if I'm being honest.

I thought you, as a mini Hitler/Stalin would connect with De Rossi's views ;)

Hahnemann wouldnt be the worse short term sgning, not a bad shout.

Kolo Toure also left out of NDQP initial list but hes right our squad is thin(assuming the wantaways leave), maybe bring one of them back in? RSC??;) ;)

Yeah, that Santa Cruz feller would be ace. I wonder if he still plays football.

Yeah, forgot Toure, but I thought we are set in defence anyway. It's midfield where we are lacking options imo and two injuries there would mean we are fucked for a while.

It's not a bad shout at all. How about Sørensen at Stoke. I believe the number two at Stoke gets all the domestic cup games. To temp a keeper of any sort of quality to be our number two we should do the same.

Hart will be our League and CL keeper as well as England number 1 in a year ending in a tournament. That's alot of games for one guy.

You've missed Savic as an u21 defender. One of the EDS keepers would currently be third keeper too.
