He seems to be free agent so he could be on trial with us.
I'd take him as a back-up keeper.

There is a picture of somebody in another thread and I could have swore it was Hildebrand.

I'd be happy with him as a back up

Strange career - record setter in Bundesliga four years back, felt out of favour at Valencia after Emery came in and bounced around between a few different clubs since then.

Would be a great number two but it seems odd that a player of his quality hasn't gotten longer deals anywhere else.

That would explain why Karius was playing with the EDS lot after originally being named in the squad for the US tour then.

Fooking hell, Timo would be a cracking number two.

Bobby continues to surprise us.

Hmmmmm thats a bolt from the blue, cant say i know much about him recently but he used to be highly rated, as long as he isnt a headcase he would be a fine number 2....

I remember him at Stuggart and he was one of Europes best keepers.

He seems to have gone off the boil in recent years. I dont see how joining us as a number two will buck that trend.

It's a chance for him to re-establish himself and a chance for us to sign a high quality goalkeeper without him demanding to be a starter.

Win, win for me. Massive upgrade on Taylor imo.

what i liked most in the vid tbh was the Balo/Dzeko partnership and their attitudes towards each other. They could be a cracking pair together. We're just skimming the surface in what we've seen so far if we can get these two lads someone to get them the fucking ball.

cheers

He had a great season with Stuttgart in their league winning season, which turned his head. Valencia was a disaster for him, played for Hoffenheim, but was a bit dodgy, warmed the bench for Sporting.

He also gave an interview 10 days ago. Said he was sick of sitting on his arse & wants to be a starter again. Make of it what you will.

I think he'd be a decent deputy.

I honestly didn't expect to see them as pally as that, a pleasant surprise and they certainly had a good understanding on the pitch. Premier League games are a whole different thing but good signs nonetheless

I could tell they were mates from when Balo pulled both of Dzeko's legs from under him after the Rovers match last year. And then Edin pretending not to know how to put a bib on:

Karius was in the US - he may have come back I suppose but the other U21s are still there it seems.

He's on trial apparently:

Former Stuttgart, Valencia, ... & Germany GK Timo Hildebrand is on trial at Manchester City atm. Decision about his signing next week. #MCFC

Hildebrand spent a long time at Valencia - Silva connection perhaps?

That would be my take on things if City do actually get him on board. Will be a serious bit of bargain hunting on Mancinis behalf.

Just not completely convinced Hildebrand will want to play second fiddle, if he does great for us.He had been in around the German side for a few years.I think his career went a bit pear shaped when Joachim Low dropped him from the squad altogether for the euro 2008 finals after he had featured throughout the qualifiers. It was a rather strange and unexpected decision at the time that Hildebrand took pretty badly.

I'm not sure what to make of it. He was pretty fucking pap for Valencia and made some horrendous mistakes. I don't remember him being that bad for Hoffenheim but then I have hardly seen all their games. Before all that though he was pretty ace keeper and definite improvement on Taylor.

I think the way we are going to roll with this second choice keepers spot is that we'll sign someone pretty good who is available and keep him for year or two and when they get pissed off sitting on the bench we'll ship them off and get someone new in. Thumbs up from me if that's the plan.
