As feedthegreek suggests it some version of augmented reality...
In short the card you hold in front of a webcam ran through the right software shows a "product" either in your hand or newer versions if held up against your body simulates clothes etc, relatively new technology starting to get more popular.
Kind of a magic mirror you will go into the City superstore pick up a card, hopd it up against yourself and see yourself "wearing" the clothing without physically trying it on. Some companies have developed web sites and are sending out cards that you hold in front of your own web cam, clever marketing tool.
Augmented reality is beginning to take off with switched on retailers, I would imagine City are the first to embrace it the footballing world.
One thing for sure is it will piss of the rags, as we (my firm) approached them a while back (sales guy is a rag, so double bubble :) ) and the wankers sat on the idea, can't wait to show the rag twat this video tomorrow:)

Is this similar to were you could print out a piece of paper from the offical site and hold it up to your webcam and you would be holding the FA Cup?

You can add 3D and even animated stuff in there, Sony and Nintendo have used versions of this for a few years in video games and presumably MS Kinnect will also be using it. It is just a gimmick really but a clever a flashy one, high tech City!
