Before you say "dont listen", I am stuck on a site where there's not much else except a limited-dongle internet to entertain, so Talkshite is about all I have. And I know they are out to shock and get a reaction, and I know they dont take any notice of us - well maybe? It made me feel a lot better to send them an e-mail. Maybe we should all do it?


Dear Talksport editors

We City fans don’t mind honest criticism. What gets us is the extreme ignorance of the presenters, almost without exception, about all things City. There is no-one that FOLLOWS the club at all, so they don’t get the information they do about their favourites, like Spurs and especially Chelsea. The most guilty are Cundy and Alvin Martin last night, but also the 2 clowns before them, and Micky Quinn. Alan Brazil is quite balanced strangely.

After years of saying we wont get any players, we’ll never get top 4 etc etc, we are now at a position, in quite a short time, to challenge for the league.

Wages
They completely make things up. Cundy was babbling about £90M package yesterday. When Adebayor signed they were outraged at 125 grand a week, now they have upped that to 175, strangely. Random.

Team Spirit
It is blindingly obvious that players who are detrimental have been moved aside, and also obvious to any observers that the team had a great spirit in the last 3 months. Yet these idiots keep shouting ‘no team spirit’. They hope.

Don’t like the way Mancini plays
Another classic. Based wholly on a 0-0 away at Arsenal. How many of them watched the demolitions of Fulham (away) or Sunderland? How many remember some of the sublime moves the team made last season. Totally discounted.

Chelsea way ahead
No-one at Talksport seems to know that City and Chelsea finished equal on points. Cundy keeps babbling about how far ahead ‘Chelsea and Man Utd are’. It is obvious to anyone but a complete idiot that City are improving year on year, but these fools just keep saying we’ll be fighting for 4th or something. They are just hoping against hope.


Robinho
Cundy – “they bought Robinho to win them the league”
Quinn – last week – “they’ve still got Robinho even”
Both statements idiotic

Adebayor etc
The players that have been moved aside are constantly screamed about as a reason why we cant win the league. What on earth have Bellamy, Adebayor, Santa Cruz and Bridge got to do with the first team squad? Nothing. None of them will know that Jo, Caicedo, Trippoer, Mee, Johnson M and Boateng have already been moved out this summer, with more to follow. Ignorance.

None of their players will get in the other top teams
Definitely the daftest of their statements. The other way round in fact. Apart from Rooney who would get in City’s team? And don’t get me started on Chelsea pensioners. They are totally ignorant – until reminded – of David Silva and Vincent Kompany, two of the league’s best players, by a long way. Then there’s Hart, Richards, De Jong, Tevez, Aguero.

Dzeko
Flopped I keep hearing. But he didn’t start many games. And yet he scored vital goals to get us to the FA cup final, and a couple of key ones in the league TO GET US EQUAL TO CHELSEA. He will come back and bite these presenters bigtime this season.

Adam Johnson
“Poor Adam Johnson cant get a game, it’s bad for England” etc etc. Has anyone watched him apart from the odd goal flash? Poor player going backward who gives the ball away. Allegedly likes the pop and is now 24, not a ‘young prospect’. I will drive him to Chelsea myself Jason, put him in your team!

So for goodness sake get some presenters with a bit of balance, or get them to read up a bit, so they stop talking out of their collective arse!

But he reminds me so much of Ireland now. Did you actually watch him in USA? I know they're 'friendlies' but he was beyond appalling. He reminds me of Ireland because everyone outside the club is saying how wonderful he is, and nasty old City wont give him a game. But they are blinded - as are many of us - by his flashes of brilliance. The rest of it is mediocre in the extreme and Mancini would be guilty of great dereliction of duty if he kept playing someone who gives the ball away 80% of the time.

That is not acceptable at this level, by any means, and I often wonder if some people actually watch him at all. His brilliant moments are given far too much prominence by some, when his poor play may cost us the game.

Unless he bucks up a bit of course, which SWP seems to be.

Great letter mate and agree with what you've written about Johnson. In my opinion, this is make or break season for him. He gives the ball away far too much and doesn't really have a lot of end product. For whatever reason, he escapes criticism from most City fans and the whole world thinks he's brilliant. I want the guy to succeed with us as he's got raw talent, but if not, at least we should get a good fee for him if we ever decide to sell.

Agree with you to a certain extent on Johnson though who by his own admission didnt play well towards the end of last season. AJ needs to learn to sling over a decent cross once is a while which he never seems to do, but he also appears to be a media darling - probably based on him scoring a couple of goals for England last Aug/Sept - and will likely be cited as a "young player" for ever more, even when he crosses 30!

AJ is now 24 and this is a big season for him; he needs to make a step up and raise his game like Micah did, and I think he can. He brings many positives to the squad but the pressure is on him.

He would have been best simply stating that he played a major role in our successful season making 31 appearances.
They are so ignorant they believe he isnt getting a game becasue he dosn't start EVERY game!

So many times people said to me last season "i can't believe Johnson isnt getting a game for you's!" ....my reply was simply, "Well he is, so don't worry yourself mate".

Also it isn't a bad thing to have players like David Silva keeping you out of the team.

Let's say that we have 5% of all premiership supporters, that means if they publish a crap story about us 95% of prem supporters love it. Add the fact that we have created a huge amount of jealousy by having the richest benefactor in football, who has upset the established status quo, and you have the easiest possible headlines for lazy or biased hacks

Admittedly talksport are the lowest of the low, but it's what most sports journalists turn out week in week out.....
