if tevez goes (which i expect him to) them we need a replacement. jermaine defoe would suit me. also i still think we badly need a top class centre back.

nasri would be nice as well.

Seasoncard still not here so i can't say im completely satisfied to start the season.I'd like nasri here aswell, people seem to forget the dip in form when we were playing twice a week last season.

yaya seemed as fit as yaya ever seems against inter.

Also defoe? seriously? 4 goals in 22 league appearances last season defoe?.

My only worry is when Silva isn't out there, be it for rest or injury. It'd be nice to get someone half as talented as he is for those days.

Hi TD, that comment threw me for a moment; for us City fans that type of expression is normally reserved for the Scum dwellers from Salford's 'Old Toilet'.

Still, it's nice to know it's flexible enough to know it can be use for Wenger's Whingers too.

It usually takes about two years ... or 3 months if you post as much as NQDP

There's definitely room for another playmaker alongside Silva; after all Barcelona accommodate both Xavi and Iniesta in the team together.

Without our little Iberian genius, I feel we'll struggle, especially against sides that come to the Etihad Stadium primarily to defend. Whether AJ can adapt to fulfill this role, to some degree, isn't something I'd want to rely upon.

b) another creative midfielder
c) a winger who can actually cross the ball

Legend (down here) has it that Roman Abramovic was in a helicopter flying over London shortly before he was going to make a bid to buy Spurs. Apparently, he saw Chelsea's Disneyland stadium and changed his mind just like that and went in for them.

So it seems, if that's true, that we were very close to being bought out all those years ago, and things could have been very different over the last few years.

With that in mind, I've often wondered whether or not I would have liked to have Spurs pushed to the top of the table by a money man, instead of being the 'nearly' team that I've always loved. Truth be told, I quite like Spurs being on the edge of success, it's never boring, often painful, but it keeps you hooked in because the hope kind of carries you through, keeps the fans singing etc There's something quite unifying about failure.

I wondered now with you guys having the mother of all money behind you, whether some of you actually miss, even just a little bit, being in with the rest of us also-rans? Or whether you completely embrace the new money-men and all the great players you're signing at the minute?

I'm not making any sort of judgement, like I say, I've wondered myself whether I prefer things the way they are at Spurs at the minute, or if I would have liked Roman to splash his cash down at the Lane. Part of me would love us to be signing Aguero and looking forward to challenging for the title next year.

Speed merchant winger (we lack pace), struggling here to come up with a suggestion but I'm sure Bobby has someone in mind having said that he wants a winger.

Replacement for Pat. Defensive minded midfielder with legs and a good engine to get about the park. We'd really struggle if Nige was out for while and we'll be without Yaya during the African nations.

Nope. Having sat through 30 odd years of winning sweet fa, in fact not even getting close to winning anything, I dont miss one single bit of it.

Lincoln away, Wycombe away, York City away - losing all three - is a very overrated experience. City fans have served their time watching some absolute dross over the years, maybe perhaps fate is paying us back with The Sheikh coming in and bestowing his riches upon us.

No - when you have suffered like us City fans have over the years then you dont miss playing every year to escape relegation.

when you "go through the change" like we're doing, there is loads you miss, yes.
If you've had 40 years of getting used to disappointment and treating success as a surprise (and rare) visitor, it can get tedious when everything always goes well (so glad Villa popped up with that goal).
the good news is it isnt like that here yet.
when it is I might watch it from my armchair rather than the stand cos they won't need me.
For the time being it's a great trip, and the fact that it coincides with the impending end of the world over in Trafford helps

I suppose when drawing parallels with Spurs, it's easy to forget you guys have had it pretty tough (much tougher).
