He's just sat there taking the money isnt he?... which I know you can't blame him for, but if he had any pride he'd take a paycut and find a club where he can rebuild his reputation... and playing in Scholes' testimonial? What a nob!

Typical City fullback, take the cash and can't be arsed. Our left back situation is akin to the defence of the dark arts teacher at Hogwarts!!!

You'd think he'd be out on the piss on his birthday, not running around getting booed at the swamp

typical munes though. Bridge is there for one of their players, not representing City. Dumb fuckers.

If he gets anywhere near your first team this term, I will bellow with (bitter) laughter.

Its indescribably dumb that you pay him £100k a week.

Scratch that. Its actually vulgar.

He is shite.

Couldn't agree with you more, don't really blame him for picking up the money (after all, it was what he was offered) but to offer a bloke who was quite happy to sit on chelsea bench for 5 years a ridiculous amount of money was a sackable offence ( note to oliver holt-its the only reason you would need to sack hughes)

And he is on a par with Danny mills to the worst fullback i've ever seen and that includes Geoff Lomax ( one for the older blues)

Lomax

Lomas

I enjoyed Steve Lomas' time as a Hammer (was there when he scored at Maine Road, too)

Where is he on City's radar? Old favourite, divider of opinion, hate figure?

Definitely not a hate figure. When I was a lad he was a promising youngster, but Gary Flitcroft alongside him was the one we had really high hopes for. Lomas was coming into his own in CM when he left. I distinctly remember him scoring the only goal of our first game following relegation to what was then Division One (against Ipswich I think). I remember leaving the ground that day thinking promotion would be a formality. 21 months and 5 managers (including Neill and Hartford) later we were relegated to the third tier. Funny old game, innit?

I liked Lomas and would much rather a thread about him than one about Wayne Bridge.Other than that own goal he was a good player for city at the time.It was inevitable he would move on to pastures new when we went down.

A good player at a difficult time for us.

However, one image will always be burned in my mind (and not in a good way).

He scored a goal at Maine Road, against Forest I think, and celebrated in front of the North Stand. Huge grin, arms spread wide, crotch pushed forward, totally oblivious to the fact he was packing a raging hard on. There are some things you just can't un-see.

Geoff Lomax played a handful of times in the early eighties and was absolutely shite.

Not to be confused with Steve Lomas, the youngest player to ever play for Coleraine who gave his all to City and your own beloved club !

And who can forget Bish who went back and forth a couple of times, you still hear him on the radio from time to time.
