We can't win the Quadruple without it, so it's a yes from me.

Gutted we didn't take it more seriously last season, although perhaps arsenal proved mancini right. With one trophy in the last 35 years, I don't think we're in a position to be above any competition just yet.

Yep. Never seen us win the bugger so it would be nice. Any Cup of the four we are in will be gratefully received. The League Cup and FA Cup represent our two best chances, providing we take them both seriously and dont field a mickey mouse third team.

Definitely yes want to win it. It's a major trophy and we like any other club can never win too many. Look at Chelsea in 05 and Utd in 06, winning this helped them to go on and win more cups and lges. Arsenal's loss in the final last season cost them their season as they can't get over the line.

Definitely want us to win this one. If Mancini takes it seriously then there is no reason why we can't win it.

Was heartbroken when Spurs knocked us out.

Cried when United knocked us out.

Would LOVE to win it. I understand it's not Mancinis top priority, but I want every trophy we can get and this is still important to me and I never want to see us disrespect any competition.

It does make me sound like the success has gone to head and bad but I would like us to concentrate on other things and let the youngsters and fringe players get as far as possible in League Cup.

I mean, we are challenging in four fronts next season and we have extremely heavy schedule especially with away games after every single Champion's League group game. That is exactly when we are playing League Cup.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

I want to win it and I think we can put up a decent effort whilst still resting players for these fixtures.

Incidentally Dennis Tueart's goal in 76 has been voted the greatest moment in the cup's 50 year history. Quite right too.

Ha ha ha, I'm sure that when I looked at this thread last night you were asking when we came into it?

Anyway, I'm with Disco Knickers on this one. We have priorities elsewhere in the form of the PL, CL and FA Cup holders. For me, that's my priorities and the League Cup comes last I'm afraid. I'd also like to see the EDS/fringe players, backed up with a few of our 1st team, get a run-out in the LC allowing them much needed experience to improve their chances of making it to the top.

This isn't me being snobbish or being up my arse, it's just the realities of where we are at the moment.

How things have changed eh? (Pinches self)

agree with most - the league cup is bottom of a list of priorities for me this season, including requalifying for CL - which I fully expect us to do -
if we lose Kompany and Silva for the season because of injuries in an away league cup game at tranmere I will do my nut

On a side-note (LC being the lowest of the low (tenuous link I know)) I'm watching Forest Green v Stockport with Hamann in charge of his 1st game at County.

Half time and they are losing 1-0 but on the offensive in the 2nd.

I see why Benjani's there training now.

For sure i want city to win but i would fully expect the competition to be used as an opportunity to blood fringe players especially with Champions League football this season, It would be silly to play our best players. In saying that i still think any second string team we field will still be a very capable side.
