Starting Lineup against Swansea

Postby Fesan » Fri Aug 12, 2011 10:29 am

So, what do you guys think the starting XI will look like? Seems we are getting Nasri, will he be in the mix? Aguero fit to start or still having trouble with blisters? Tevez match fit?

Personally I think Both Tevez and Aguero will be found not ready, Aguero for the bench and Tevez not in at all. Nasri will have signed, but will be benched/in the stand.

Hart

Micah, Kompany, Lescott, Clichy

De Jong, Milner/Barry

Balo, Yaya, Silva

Dzeko

I read somewhere that Nasri would need to be signed by lunch time today to be considered under rules and regulations. Bah. Unlikely then. I'm almost certain it'll be your team. Though Barry may get the nod.

Id like to see Aguero start for balo, but I guess he isnt ready.

The rest looks about right, but Milner for Barry. Milner needs 5 games, then assess.

Mancini confirmed that Tevez will be out and Nasri is not signed yet so he prob. cannot play. Guess the only question then is if Aguero will start or not. Personally I doubt it, esp. since Dzeko has been so good in the offseason. Also have him in my fantasy team although I think I'll swap him with Aguero as soon as he is a regular:-)

I think Clichy over Kolarov is the right choice for this game - Sinclair and Routledge are both quick out wide so they have the potential to counter when we're playing in their half.

I'd start with Dzeko too, with Johnson and Aguero to come on in the second half.

Expecting a much better performance from the midfield than the one a week ago.

Hopefully we'll see Aguero come on at some point when we're 4-0 up.

Man City forwards could be a daunting fantasy decision this year. Dzeko, Aguero, Tevez, and Balo....
Balo and Aguero may play out "on the wings" more than the other 2 but still....trying to choose which of those
4 will play and when (barring suspensions and/or injuries) will be hard.
Tevez looks like the best and safest bet while also the most expensive but Aguero is hard to turn down

I agree. I have hart and Lescott. We had the best defence after Chelsea last year. Can't see why that will change, and Lescott will hopefully bag a goal or two. I've also including Silva. I think he will be the first player on the team sheet and that he will be even better this season.

We had the same as Chelsea.

You're right, mate. Didn't realise that we caught up with them in the end. My point stands, though.

Yeah, Im relying on Silva plus Hart, Kompany, and Richards. I had De Jong but dropped him cuz he'll rack up some yellows. I will pick up Aguero later though..maybe week 4.

Lescott is always a better bet in Fantasy football - purely because he scores. Vinnie doesn't score as many.

I was very unimpressed with Milner at Wembley...thought the gulf in class between him and Barry when GB came on was astonishing. Barry looked very sharp I have to say though.

I hope Clichy starts. Kolarov looks like he's carrying on from where he left off at the end of the season (ie. vastly improved) but Clichy has an extra notch or two of class and his delivery into the box is hands down better than AK. If we are going to play Dzeko/Balo then let's at least set up for some delivery to them

Clichy over Kolarov any day of the week, there is a reason we bought a leftback and it wasn't to continue to play that donkey there. Kompany should be given the armband and Lescott and Richards were a couple of standout performers to the end of last season, pretty much writes itself.

GB I had hoped could be our closer, but he hasn't been replaced by anyone better, Milner I fear is a LGIAST(anyone want to take a guess?) player. de Jong and Yaya you always play if they are fit. Any word on Yaya here? I know he played in the CS but he didn't look near full fitness.

If Tevez plays, I think we are all drooling over the prospect of Silva--Tevez--Aguero lineup, but should Tevez not play and Aguero not be fit, Silva--Dzeko--Johnson should be more than Swansea can handle. Not sure I can handle another season of Balotelli, time will tell.

Hopefully he'll use Johnson against teams like Swansea all season. He'll more than tear them apart.

He went off in mid-week playing for the Ivory Coast....apparently it was an ankle thing again

No word on it anywhere since

He didn't look anywhere near fit at Wembley though...although lots of them didn't look at the races
