Ratings vrs Swansea

Hart-8- solid.
Richards-7-few uneasy moments but looks like he's getting better and better.
Kompany-8-awesome as usual.
Lesscott-9-brilliant overall.
Clitchy-8-Looks miles better then Kolorov at the back.
Johnson-7-Busy on the wing but i feel if we sign Nasri he will be limited, it's a shame really as the lad is so much better when he's constantly playing like he was right at the very start b4 his injury.
De Jong-7-cut everything up as usual.
Barry-8-poor starting off but as the game went on, looked very good.
Silva-10-absolute class, quiet possibly the best midfielder in the prem.
Yaya-8-poor starting off, didn't chase back, miles better second half, looks like me after 5 a side the way he gets knackered.
Dzetko-9-talk about a different player, class.

Subs...

Aguero-10-errr a bit classy this lad.

Overall-Swansea were very good first half, city were different class second half, and what a debut that was, but Dzetko deserves a bit mention here, he was brilliant as well as Silva as useual.

Amen to that! Dzeko started first 10 minutes with his usual awful touch, but then he was pure class!

I must congratulate Michel Vorm too, Swansea's goalie. He was excellent and saved so many balls going in. Swansea would have gotten a whole lot more goals if he wasn't this excellent. Supposedly he's highly rated in the Netherlands and I can tell why, his first PL game and he only joined the club 5 days ago. Classy act and I hope he keeps that up.

Aside from that, Silva and Aguero... holy smokes! Dzeko was great as well, I think overall the whole team did great. Slow start, but once we picked up the pace, Swansea could do little.

You guys were watching a different Barry to me. I thought it was exactly his game and he was excellent. Johnson was dire as usual.

Don't think anyone was dire and certainly not AJ who played a decent role in the first 3 goals. As for Barry I thought he played well and got better as the game went on.He just has a knack of seeing trouble early and plugging gaps whilst at the same time being constantly available for a passfrom teammates under pressure.

He isn't fancy and rarely invloved in goals but he has real team quality.

Thought Barry had a great game. Johnno did his usual trick of being entirely anonymous for large parts of the game, but then popping up with a moment of great quality every now and then. If he could perform consistently then any doubts about him would disappear.
Thought Lescott did well defensively, but he still loses possession with misplaced passes an awful lot. Looked good going forward tho.
Yaya looked absolutely bollocksed after about ten minutes (even more so than usual) but improved as the game went on. The only person who performed below their usual standard was de jong. He still had an alright game, but didn't dominate the middle as much as he usually does. Micah was class. Aguero.... nothing you can say really.

Really mate?
I mean, it was just a cameo and probably shouldn't even been rated but he was in deep trouble every time ball came towards him. One of their players glided past him with ease on one occasion and when he was on ball he looked far from convincing. Not going to hammer the lad but he didn't look too good in that short spell on the pitch.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

I thought it was a good move to bring Savic on for some experience for 15-20 mins when the game was won. Unfortuntely I think the occassion got to him and he let Swansea in twice and looked far too nervous on the ball. For this year I'd continue bringing him on when the games are won but I don't expect to see him start any premier league games this season unless we struggle with injuries.

Savic will be fine when he's settled in. Takes anyone a few games to adjust to this league. He's got a lot of potential though.

I gave him and Milner low ratings because they were on for 10-15 minutes and therefore didnt have an opportunity to do much and didnt. the 3 doesnt mean, in my ratings and opinion, that savic was awful or anything; he just didnt have enough time on the pitch. plus, like NQDP, i thought he wasnt too impressive on a few occasions. it was good that he got a run out though.

im not a glory hunter. whenever i've seen short time subs rated theyre almost always below a five (unless they score or add an assist which these 2 didnt) because they dont have enough time on the pitch...

Hart(7) Only one real save to make and little else to do.
Richards(8) Fantastic start from Micah, great cross for the 2nd goal.
Kompany(7) Solid without being spectacular.
Lescott(8) Amazingly comfortable on the ball for a defender.
Clichy(7) Good debut, nothing really to do defensively.
Johnson(8) Inconsistent with his results, but direct running forces the defence every time, involved in 3 goals and better than the criticism he gets.
De Jong(7) is de Jong, nuff said, quiet game for him though.
Barry(8) So composed it's scary, does everything simple and unrewarded that gives the forwards licence to roam.
Yaya(8) Could have had a couple, hitting the ground running which is encouraging.
Silva(9) Freaking magician, still giddy about him.
Dzeko(8) So much better than we've seen from him so far, needs a bit more consistency but a decent run should bring him good.
Aguero(10) I laugh every time I see that second goal, such an OMG moment I think we'll be saying that a lot this season.
Milner(N/A)
Savic(N/A)
