Edin Dzeko

Mods if you think this deserves to go into the game thread fair do's but i think the big man deserves some credit.

I Thought he had a good game tonight.

Yes he maybe lacked a bit of composure for that good chance in the first half' However, he worked very hard throughout, from the moment he chased down and won the ball in the corner by the south stand, to bringing his teamates into the game by making a mere simple pass, tracking back and challenging and not whinging at decisions and sulking like some do. (he raised an eyebrow and gave a smile at Mike Dean for one in the first half)

Silva and Aguero deserve the plaudits and rightly so, but Dzeko in my eyes did a lot of grafting which will go unoticed by many.

2 from 2. He is starting to have the figures that had at Wolfsburg.

Dzeko looked better than I've seen him before - if he can continue to improve he'll be a real asset

Proper old school poacher, Edin. He'll score so many surrounded by Silva, Aguero, Yaya etc.

Everyone was good tonight. Even Hart though not too troubled made some very good saves and an athletic play to keep a ball in later on.

Always going to get lost in the shuffle when Aguero has a half of football like he did.

Also needs to be said that for all the great things Silva and Aguero did, Swansea tried to play football. Didn't put 10 behind the ball or try to kick the player and not the ball. Teams will learn and things won't be so easy going forward. Try to play cute and attacking against City and you'll get killed.

Dzeko will be a big part of winning this year when Silva/Aguero/Johnson aren't given the space to work like they were tonight. Overall its just such a strong squad and we'll need everyone.

Dzeko was in the right place a lot, including the goal and there's a lot to be said for that. Finding the net is what counts. They won't all look like the last few tonight.

Although Edin Dzeko to England’s football public has not yet been demonstrated in the right light, Gordog Albion former coach, Steve McClaren, believes in his quality…

The two transfers that were raised most of the winter dust on the island are certainly move of Fernando Torres from Liverpool to Chelsea and coming of Edin Dzeko at Manchester City.

Bosnian striker in eight league matches have not yet enrolled in the list of scorers, but the former Wolfsburg coach, Steve McClaren, see justification in adapting to new environment: “Adapting to the English championship is different, as on the Manchester City dressing room also. The next season he will be better and will surely score.”

As evidence for his argument he offered an interesting fact: “Dzeko needed one year to get accustomed to the Bundesliga. Already in the next season he scored 28 goals, 30th in the third season. This season before he left, he scored ten goals. He’ll adjust to achieve the goals, he has everything” – McClaren is convinced.

His first touch is not good enough. Desperately needs sorting. Played much better second half, still think Ade's a better player mind.

That was probably the best I have seen from Dzeko in a City shirt. Although he fluffed his chance in the first half he never gave up and deserved his eventual goal. You could see the confidence that the goal gave him as his all round play improved immeasurably after that with all his flicks and passes coming off and he ended the game very strongly. A close second to David Silva for man of the match

Absolutely brilliant display - won most things in the air, showed strength on the ball, good control and some good involvement in passing moves. I really couldn't fault anything he did.

i feel possibly not playing with tevez will help dzeko, everyone knows tevez gets the ball the first thing on his mind is to shoot, now with players around him who arnt as greedy he will have more chances, mark my words dxeko will have 20 plus goals this season

He gets better and better.

Old skool target man, very few like him around these days.

He will be a huge asset to us this year, no doubt!

Think he'll get 20 goals this season, his touch is slightly off still but it's very close and his workrate is very good

Why? Today was his best performance for us but his first touch still needs improving. Still on a few occasions the ball bounces back off him. He's not a lone striker, he looks far better with someone alongside him.
