Samir Nasri denies taking parting shot at Arsenal fans ahead of Manchester City move
Samir Nasri has denied taking another angry parting shot at Arsenal as his £23 million move to Manchester City inched towards its conclusion. The France midfielder has allowed his contract to run into its final year, meaning Arsenal must sell him now or risk receiving nothing when he can leave on a free transfer next summer. Personal terms of around £165,000-a-week have already been provisionally agreed with Manchester City and his transfer should be completed by the weekend.
Nasri was subjected to obscene chanting from the Arsenal fans at Newcastle on Saturday and responded on Twitter, where he branded those supporters “disrespectful”.
Yesterday, a Facebook account purporting to belong to Nasri claimed he would leave with "anger and bitterness", but that account's authenticity has since been denied.
Arsenal are now searching for replacements and, as well as Valencia’s Juan Mata and Brazil midfielder Jadson, they are closely tracking Eden Hazard. Lille have indicated that they would want €30 million (£26.4 million) for the Belgian midfielder.

SPURS IN ADEBAYOR CHASE
TOTTENHAM are closing in on a season-long loan deal for Emmanuel Adebayor.
And they hope to have him on board in time to play at Manchester United next Monday.
Spurs boss Harry Redknapp is desperate to bring in some fresh firepower.
And he is on the verge of a breakthrough in his search for a striker with Spurs and Manchester City close to finalising a
deal for Adebayor.
City are keen to offload Adebayor, who is out of favour at the Etihad Stadium and spent the end of last season at Real Madrid.
But they were struggling to find a taker for the 27 year old – until now.
Madrid have shown little desire to land Adebayor on a permanent basis, and wages have proved to be a stumbling block for Spurs.
City originally wanted Spurs to pay the majority of his £170,000-a-week wages to land him on loan.
But the two clubs have reached a compromise deal and agreed to pay 50 per cent, £85,000, each.
Adebayor’s move will be a controversial one.
He spent two-and-a-half years at Arsenal and was subjected to sick taunts from Spurs fans whenever the London rivals clashed.
But the striker has already insisted he is willing to join Spurs and forget the abuse despite his Gunners links.STAR

City could pay SWP to move to Bolton
Shaun Wright-Phillips is in talks with Manchester City about a pay-off that would open the door for his move to Bolton.
The England winger is keen on the transfer, but the Trotters are unwilling to disrupt their pay ceiling to bring him in - and have made what they insist is their maximum offer.
Wright-Phillips would rather join Bolton than fellow suitors Wigan and Stoke and is trying to reach a settlement with City, where he has a year left on a £50,000-a-week deal.
City will pick up around £2million from Owen Coyle's men for the 29-year-old, and may be in a position to pass a slice of the fee on to Wright-Phillips just to get him off their payroll.
There are a string of players at City looking for pay-offs as boss Roberto Mancini clears the decks, and the club are trying to hammer out the best terms possible - from their point of view - in a difficult set of negotiations.MIRROR

Everton plan swoop for Man City defender
Everton boss David Moyes is in talks with Manchester City about signing out-of-favour defender Nedum Onuoha.
Onuoha spent last season on loan at Sunderland, and Moyes would ideally take him to Goodison on the same basis.
City, however, want to sell Onuoha, who has also been a target for Bolton and Blackburn, but may relent if Everton pick up his £40,000-a-week wages.
The player wants to stay in the north-west for personal reasons, and the move would suit him if the clubs can agree to the terms.
Everton could even make a cash offer for Onuoha if Arsenal buy their England centre-half Phil Jagielka. although they want a deal tied up with City as soon as possible rather than waiting for a new bid from the Gunners.
Moyes is trying to get rid of another central defender, Joseph Yobo, who is no longer in his plans, and could do with having both Onuoha and Jagielka in his squad if he can somehow make the payroll sums work.
Bolton were interested in Onuoha when they were discussing a swap with City for centre-back Gary Cahill, while Blackburn see the 24-year-old as a potential replacement for in-demand skipper Chris Samba. MIRROR

Manchester City tell Newcastle to pay £2million to loan Wayne Bridge
NEWCASTLE have been told to stump up around £2million to take Wayne Bridge on loan from Manchester City.
Bridge, signed for £12million from Chelsea in 2009, is not in boss Roberto Mancini's first-team plans but the City chief still wants a fee for any short-term deal.
Toon boss Alan Pardew - desperate to sign a left-back - would also have to pay half of Bridge's £90,000-a-week wages.SUN

James Milner and Adam Johnson to stay at Man City
MANCHESTER CITY will block any attempts by Alex McLeish to take James Milner and Adam Johnson on loan.
Aston Villa boss Big Eck asked about the pair during talks over keeper Shay Given's move from the Etihad last month.
Midfielder Milner, 25, left Villa only a year ago in a £24million deal while winger Johnson, 24, cost £6m from Middlesbrough in February 2010.
But City boss Roberto Mancini insists neither player will be leaving. SUN

Hoddle: ‘Man City have still got a lot of work to do’
Glenn Hoddle has told talkSPORT Manchester City have a lot of work to do before they are ready to topple rivals Manchester United.
City started their Premier League campaign in emphatic style on Monday, with summer signing Sergio Aguero coming off the bench to inspire them to a 4-0 victory over Swansea.
But Hoddle was not overly impressed by their display against the Premier League new boys and believes Roberto Mancini’s men need major improvements to wrestle the title away from United.
“What concerns me with City is I look at the system they're playing and don’t know whether individuals totally know what their jobs are” Glenn Hoddle
The former England boss told Keys & Gray: “They’ve got so much strength in depth that you’ve got to say they will be contending - but they’ve still got a lot of work to do.
“The first half was very, very disappointing if you’re a City fan. They were totally outplayed by Swansea. OK, Swansea found it hard to penetrate in the last third, which teams coming up are always going to find difficult because that’s the cutting edge that you pay your millions of pounds for, but they played some smashing football. You were looking at City and thinking they can’t keep the ball.
“What concerns me with City is I look at the system they're playing and don’t know whether individuals totally know what their jobs are on the pitch. At Wembley [against Manchester United in the Community Shield] I was very surprised to see how they approached the game.
“Whether it’s the tactical nous getting across to the players or whether it’s the players not really taking it on board, I don’t know. But I was very concerned by the shape they played and when players came into little holes no-one covered the areas they need to cover and I think against better teams, more forceful teams, they could have a problem if they don’t get that right.”

Paying £85k a week to improve Spurs is insanity on a planetry scale, just fucking stupid.

As for Ned, there should be 2 options. Firstly, drag it out with Moyes and accuse him of all sorts...remember Lescott? Secondly, do a deal with Jagielka for Ned...we are apparently interested in a centre half and he is way better than Cahill, who's qualities I have yet to see.

I agree re Adebayor - if we're paying his wages it is an absolute joke. It will be good to get him off the books but what's the point if it's only a short term fix AND we lose face by [aying his wages. I'd also go along with your suggestion of dragging our heals with Everton - that Moyes is some pr1ck and I'd love to give it back to him.

Having said that, you or I don't run the football club, it's the more objective, level-headed types who tend to get those roles (these days)...

If Adebayor goes to Spurs in a loan rather than a swap deal, it means we no longer consider Spurs as a threat to our league position. I kind of like that.

Glen Hoddle's comments are so full of fucking shit it's unbelievable. Swansea passed us out of the game for 20 mins, THAT would be fair, not the whole fucking 1st half. After that, we battered the living shit out of them & should have scored 4 goals in the next 25. We did score 4 goals in the next 45.

This biased twat, is claiming that the way we were set up v Swansea would have left us open against better teams. NO FUCKING SHIT SHERLOCK!!!!!! What? We went forward & attacked v the bottom team in the league & didn't worry about it ? NO!!! SURELY NOT!! And what would the cunt be saying if we'd kept it tight & won 2-0 ? 'Not adventurous enough. Manyoooo wouldn't be sitting back afraid to take risks against these, no way to win the league, etc etc' What a lying cunt.

This is such a perfect example of a bloke who is lying through his fucking teeth in order to find something negative to say about us, rather than praising a great attacking performance. Even Gary Neville didn't do that.

Big chinned, lying, biased, cockney, weirdo, fucking wankstain. You're on my list you cunt.

Hoddle is a pathetic man. What he said about disabled people was appalling and the real surprise is that any form of media goes to him for an opinion. Why? The man is an idiot of the first degree.

Whilst I agree with you, I think he was a good manager for England. I thought our performances 1996-1998 were some of the best I've seen during my lifetime. He's not my cup of tea as a bloke, but I think the national team would've continued to progress under his stewardship.

Not to mention he is 100% wrong. Yes they had alittle of the ball but 0% end product which coincidentally had we had that he would be screaming about the money spent.

We had a plethora of chances and only a great GK and the bar was the difference between 2 or 3 nil at halftime and nil-nil.

We played controlled and used the first half to get a grip on the game and feel out our opponent. Plus ofcourse create alot of chances.

He is talking out of his ass, Swansea had nothing. One chance at best and every team gets one chance during a game.

Sven's record was good - qualified for three straight tournos and got to the quarters every time. Under Hoddle, though, we topped our WCQ group which included a brilliant Italy side and then went toe-to-toe with Argentina in the World Cup itself, only going out on penalties.

Statistics are statistics, but we were definitely an upwardly mobile team under Hoddle.

I thought we had already decided that he's off, nice to see yapping to the media is a family trait ....

City to decide on Santa Cruz
Roque Santa Cruz would consider dropping down to the Championship but is waiting for Manchester City to make a decision on his future, according to his father.
The striker is well down the pecking order at the Etihad Stadium and spent the second half of last season on loan with Blackburn, where he had impressed earlier in his career.
It is unclear where he will be plying his trade this term, but if a move does not materialise quickly it could turn out to be a frustrating campaign.
Santa Cruz's father and agent, Aproniano, claims there is a lot of interest in his son, who turned 30 on Tuesday and is desperate to play regularly.
Aproniano also says the player is keen to stay in English football but recognises that City are in control of the situation.
"He has a contract with City until June 2013 and is available for what the club decides to do," Aproniano told Paraguayan newspaper ABC.
Competitive
"They are looking for another club for him because Roque wants to go to another team where he can have more chances to play.
"There are teams interested, but if he was not injured there would be more teams.
"Roque is comfortable in Manchester and I would like an English team more (than a move abroad)."
Santa Cruz's father has also indicated that Leeds United could be in with a chance of signing the experienced international, as he would be open to the idea of playing in the Championship.
"The second division is very competitive in England, with powerful teams in huge stadiums," said Aproniano
"There are important teams like Leeds United, but his future will be decided by Manchester."

Don't be so diplomatic Ted, go on and say what you really feel about him.

With regard to Onouha's situation and Arsenal being continually linked with a load of different centre backs, I wonder if Wenger has considered buying him as he'd be a fairly inexpensive purchase, Ned is possibly better than some of the other names being quoted, he's not on a relatively massive wage anyway and, in any event, 'Mr I didn't see it' isn't the world's greatest judge of a defender (or goalkeepers for that matter).

Arsenal could do a lot worse and we might squeeze 6 or 7 million out of them at a push. It would also be a good move for the player.

Manchester City close in on Samir Nasri from Arsenal
Manchester City are close to agreeing a deal to sign Samir Nasri from Arsenal.
The transfer could be finalised in the next 24 hours, with City paying Arsenal a reported £25m.
Nasri, who joined the Gunners from Marseille in 2008, is into the final 12 months of his contract and has rejected a new deal at the Emirates Stadium.
The France midfielder, 24, would become the second high-profile departure from Arsenal this week after Cesc Fabregas joined Barcelona on Monday.

Man City youngster given go-ahead to join Feyenoord
Manchester City striker John Guidetti's prospective loan to Feyenoord has been approved by his agent.
Guidetti recently agreed a new three-year contract with Roberto Mancini's side but the 19-year-old is unlikely to get a look in this season.
But the Sweden Under-21 star now has the option of a temporary move to Holland with the Eredivisie club.
The teenager's representative Per Jonsson ruled out a move to FC Twente as he felt his client would not get enough opportunities of first team football there but he is confident the Feyenoord deal could benefit all parties.
"Feyenoord is a good option, with the contract extension with Manchester City agreed Guidetti should be loaned out," he said.
"At his age it is important to playing a lot. At Feyenoord a loan is an interesting possibility. But it depends on many factors, firstly whether the clubs can agree on a deal."
Speaking about Twente's interest to Dutch paper Der Telegraaf, Jonsson said: "FC Twente already have two good strikers, so I felt that in view of career planning it was not a good step." talkSHIT

Wesley Sneijder staying but Carlos Tevez may replace Samuel Eto'o
Inter Milan have firmly rejected reports linking Wesley Sneijder with a move to Manchester this summer, but the Italian club could be set to bring in City striker Carlos Tevez as a replacement for Samuel Eto'o.
Nerazzurri president Massimo Moratti told Italian newspaper La Gazzetta Dello Sport that he didn't really care about Eto'o's imminent departure to Russian side Anzhi Makhachkala but ruled out any discussions with Manchester City for Sneijder.
The charismatic club official said Sneijder was simply 'untouchable' and wouldn't be drawn into any more speculation about the Dutch technician.
'Sneijder is going nowhere and there has never been any kind of talks about Wes,' Moratti said.
'It doesn't matter whether Eto'o stays put or leaves the club.
'Sneijder was untouchable before the situation with Eto'o and he has become even more so now Eto'o could leave.'
While the Sneijder saga draws to an apparent close it doesn't mean that all lines of communication have been broken between Inter and Manchester City.
Stripped of the captaincy and unsettled to the highest degree Tevez is being weighed up by the Italians, however Uefa's new financial fair play rules could hinder a permanent deal.
In the interim though Inter may look to ease Tevez's pain by brining him to the San Siro on loan to see how he settles in Milan after his experience living in Manchester.
Morati remained upbeat that the club would recruit a replacement for Eto'o saying the names being mooted in the media are correct.
'The names that have been mentioned are correct,' added the 67-year-old.
'We have been following Tevez, (Ezequiel) Lavezzi and (Diego) Forlan. It will
be difficult to sort an agreement for the City striker but the others we are
considering.' Metro

PSG could scupper Wright-Phillips move
Bolton's hopes of signing Shaun Wright-Phillips from Manchester City could be scuppered by interest from Paris Saint-Germain.
Trotters boss Owen Coyle has confirmed he wants to bring the winger to the Reebok but is unsure whether the club can afford his wages.
Interest from mega-rich PSG could also mean the Trotters lose out in the race to sign him with the French giants said to be prepared to offer the former Chelsea man a lucrative package to seal the deal.
Bolton will retain an interest in the 29-year-old, however, and the transfer could still go through before the window closes at the end of the month with Wright-Phillips thought to be keen to stay in the north-west.
Wigan Athletic and Stoke City have also expressed an interest in the winger and the battle is only set to intensify further for his signature in the next few weeks with PSG keen as well.
