How Would You Feel If Adebayor Goes To Spurs On A Free?

It's being widely reported that this could happen. How would you feel if it does?
Personally I would rather keep him at the club than let he join another team in the same league (I won't use the word rivals as I got too much stick last time) as us for nothing! It's not even a loan deal that is being talked about so it is quite possible that he would score against us.
We shouldn't be helping other teams in the same league in this way.

I understand your concern cos whatever you say about him, he can be a good player when he wants to be. But the only question for me is "Do we help ourselves more than we help them?" I haven't got an answer. Only time will tell, I suppose.

I 'dont mind they buying him on a free. I would however be VERY upset if they get to loan him for nothing and we have to pay most of his wages.
He has three years left that is atleast 20-30 mil. so if we save those wages they can have him for free. I'd however not want them to have him and us paying 15 mil for it.

I'd feel that it's shockingly arrogant & lazy of all the management team, to allow a player of such quality to become worthless. A bit of encouragement & he would have been a highly saleable asset. Instead, we managed to play Jo & sell him instead. Rubbish by Bob, Marwood & anyone else concerned.
If we weren't rich & had been arrogantly complacent about him & several other players, he'd be going for big money.

Completely agree - the management team have fucked up with a number of these players and have little right to whinge like they've been doing lately.
I don't know why there was such reticence to talk to Madrid a month ago - surely selling him for 7-10 million to a Spanish club, clearing his wages and making the player happy is a better option than subsidizing a move to a rival?
Lunacy.

He was loaned to Real Madrid for him to showcase his ability and get big clubs interested. He was shite there and we are stuck with player who is on horrible wages we need to get rid.

If he were to score and help spuds beat the rags ,arse or chelski and not be allowed to play agaist us I don't think that would be to bad.But I suppose that's unlikely so keeping him incase of emergencies might be better.

I found Mancini amusing when he said "I did not sign these players, it's not my problem". Be interested how Dongy, Harty, Richards and for obvious different reasons AJ, feel about that.

that's right...i feel a loan to Spurs is actually beneficial if they'll pay a nice chunk say 60% of his wages. he's doing fuckall here, might as well use him as a weapon on another team to hopefully take some points from our enemies.
am i the only one who sees it this way?
cheers

It was too little, too late. The spin doctors had already done their work in this country; disruptive, lazy blah blah, just like Bellamy & Ned, but when I saw him for Real Madrid, he was better than any of our strikers last season bar Tevez. As he was for City. Harry wants to sign him because of his performances at Real, as he was on the receiving end of it.
Terrible waste of a useful player who could still be one of the best strikers in the league if someone with man management skills gets into his head.

It took until the second last game of the season to confirm our Champions League spot over Spurs.
FA cup or not, Aguero or not, we're not the million miles beyond them that some seem to think we are. Strengthening them in any way is a ridiculous idea.

They have plenty of cash to BUY players when they feel like it. I'm sick of us loaning players out.

It's not a loan deal that is being talked about mate, it's a free transfer!

Good grief. Even worse. Anyone else fancy a free prolific striker? How about you Mr Ferguson? Or you Mr Dalglish? City will stump up the money, and you can have him - free!!

I watch a lot of Spanish football and he definitely
wasn't shite at Real Madrid. His value has plummeted partly due to his not reputation for being a whiney, disruptive cunt (which isn't entirely untrue) and through us making his look useless by not involving him. A bit of both.

I saw him fair few times and thought he was pretty poor mostly.
The big problem with Adebayor is that he is ultimate hot and cold player. When he is hot, he is almost unplayable. When he is cold, it's like playing with 10 men. Teams aiming for titles can't afford to have players like that. It's no coincedence that Arsenal won fuck all during his stay there.

I recon Arsenal were & would be again a much better team with Adebayor up front.
