No it didn't KK every1 knows it's tottenham who are the poster boys for expansive attacking football and not man city.................even though we outscored them in the league last season and had a far superior goal difference

I really hope that Roberto doesn't go to bed tonight worrying about 'Releasing the handbrake' too much.

Bolton's 2 goals today were both extremely well taken & given that, also slightly fortuitous. Out of their 3 shots on goal (BBC), 2 went in. This won't happen every week.

The positives from today, imo, so far outweigh the fact that it ended as a tense game, but we will be all the better for it.

I had the sinking feeling of 'Typical City' all the way through the game, but we closed it out really well & i`ve wobbled my own head in this respect.

For my money, the creativity, the optimistical outlook and the imagination in some of our play was a joy to behold and close to if not better than anything we produced last season.

The base of the team is there. Bedding in one new (to date) first teamer in Aguero has to be easier than the 5 or 6 newbies of the last two seasons.

In short...I'm terribly excited....Leave off the brakes Roberto

The thing is, this was one of the main things that the meedja bufoons aimed at us all last year, specifically in the wake of the Spurs and Gunner's games. Before the season started we already had articles saying that Mancini is the weak link and we won't get to the top until we get rid yet from what I've been reading after both our games they've got nothing but praise, even if it is in an under-hand way.

Has Mancini succumb to the media pressure or has, in my opinion, he now got a set-up that he trusts and this is his more natural game?

We've been title winners class so far, no doubt. Been really impressed with the momentum so far.

But I' not getting carried away. I just want to see how we perform against superior opposition. A loss next week and this board will change dramatically.

Ha ha ha, are you saying we're fickle? Very true though and I can see Bobby playing very different tactics next week, but you never know, he may surprise us all. Last year we set out to ensure they didn't score but Bobby may feel that Spurs should be the ones to be worried and have confidence in the team to play the right way.

He won Performance of the Season for it at the City awards it was so good!
While I would hate to sit through the same 90 minutes again this season, I think I would be happy with a point.

Remember he said in an interview a while back that we needed to score 10 or 15 more goals this season if we want to win the title.
I like this approach. I just hope he keeps this idea throughout the season.

It's not a failure if Bob doesn't win the league this season, it's only failure if we don't improve. If we keep getting better, then eventually, we end up at the top. I don't trust this new found 'aren't City wonderful' shite from the media; these are the same people who were writing us off after the Charity fucking Shield. So far we have clearly improved from last season. Whether we will get 100% better & win the league by a country mile or only 10% better & challenge but come 2nd, I don't know but I already see good progression. That's all I ask for. Well, that & good, attacking football. Imo our football is the best in the league so far.

There may be setbacks & even the odd nightmare but so long as we keep moving forward, I don't care.

just for balance i think Mancini, when asked in the presser before the Bolton match if he'd rather win 1-0 or 4-3...his answer was ultimately a circumspect "to win 1-0 is good" or something.

i don't believe for a second that given his mindset and his history as a player that he doesn't rate attacking flair and attacking football, but he also will be peeved at us leaking two goals, and if we do that more than once i believe he will use the handbrake as they say. He will not want to LOSE the league, but on the display from the first two matches he surely looks to have a mind to win it. His substitutions today when holding a 1-goal lead were initially Tevez and Johnson. That's not sitting back and waiting to get battered with a more defensive mindset. Me likey.

When I opened the criticism of him last season my main gripe was that he wasn't using the players in such a way as they could go out and actually enjoy taking the game to our opponents with the intent of winning the game. Too often we tried to steal results that we should have been going for hell for leather.

So far this season (and to a fair degree at the end of last season) our team is definitely set up to go for the jugular. You can only put that change of attitude at the manager's door and I'm delighted to say that he's shown that he can do it. Bravo Mancini :-)
