I cried then when we lost - we've had to put up with so much sh*t in between - now we can move on....
"Ricky Villa, "Twitcher" Redknapp, Ossie's very trembly, Chas and Dave, The London Media, The year with a 1 in it, that annoying "...oh when the Spurs" dirge, Glen Hoddle, Chris Waddle....your boys took a HELL OF A BEATING!!!! (all in Norwegian commentator style)"

I don't think it will be truly laid to rest until the media stop showing that fucking goal!

I can only single out a few high spots against the despicable Spurs since then.....last season's CL redemption and the FA Cup comeback being the high spots.....but last night was on a different level altogether.
Still hate them though

That was an eventful night for me.
I travelled down there with my mate - a United fan - and my 20 year old missus, armed to the teeth with tickets hoping to make a killing, only to find touts virtually giving them away.
Saw Spurs first goal.
Some trouble broke out in the crowd behind me so I kept my eye on it to make sure the wife would be ok, caused me to miss McKenzies goal.
Second half, we got the penalty.
Knowing the crowd was going to surge come what may, I held the missus around the waist. As the ball hit the net I forgot and threw my arms up, simultaneously pulling her T-shirt up and exposing her ample and unfettered tits to all who wanted to look (including my mate).
Ended up sobbing like a baby all the way out of the stadium only to be clouted on the nose by a thunderous punch from a Spurs fan, who then disappeared into the night - twat !
Then there was the walk to Neasden and the drive home - 'wonderful'.

Wow, same for me. I was in the Upper Tier and the trouble was below me, but still managed to miss the goal. I remember people clambering into and over the netting that was across the tunnel entrance. Bizarre. Lots of Spurs fans in the Lower Tier, tunnel end, as I remember. 20,000 tickets went on sale at Wembley, so very fair on City fans. I also remember it being very easy for my Dad to get 5 tickets during the week.

I was in the lower tier s1tym. Loads of Tottenham fans right behind us giving it large.
I remember some mad fucking woman had a baby of about 3 months old in her arms as well - nuts.

The whole night was pretty unpleasant. I went to school, in Coventry, and got the train to Euaton, where a mate of my Dads picked me up. Got me to Wembley Park, which was swarming with Cockneys. Some little turd came up and offered a handshake of goodwill...yeah, right. I was pretty scared as there were about 10 of them stood around us. I think my Dads mate saved me from a belting. By the time we got up Wembley Way, there were nore City fans around, though we were heavily outnumbered in the stadium. The Upper tier was all blue, but where you were was definitely a mixed bag.
When we scored the penalty to go 2-1 up, I thin we all felt we were going on to win 4-1, or something like that. We had all the momentum. Then the defence went to sleep and allowed Garth Crooks space for the equalizer. Villas goal is etched on my mind. I think he beat Tommy Caton twice!
We got the tube to somewhere in North London, harrow I think, where my Dad had parked up. Some fucker on the tube pipes up, 'Take me home Daddy', as we got off. I think I've hated them to this day ever since.
Still, the semi-final still ranks as the best time I have had at a match and the best atmosphere I have ever experienced at any sporting event. City took over Villa Park and the Holte End was like a bear garden when we scored. Fucking glorious it was.

The sight of Perryman lifting that gleaming trophy has stuck in my mind's eye ever since - and I've tried no end of Optrex ;-)
I couldn't go to the semi final but when power got the winner I ran out of the house all the way down our street like a fucking nutter. I was the only one as most of my neighbours were reds.

I was pretty small in 81 and from my vantage point on the terrace, all I saw was Power hit it. I could not see the goals, so the ball sort of disappered into the crowd in front of us. Then there was this ridiculous explosion. I think Dickov's equalizer was similar, with people basically losing the plot. Actually, we had a bit of a party at our house for this years Cup Final (being an SC holder is not enough to get a ticket, sadly) and when the goal went in, the house exploded; we went absolutely fucking berserk. The 3 most exhilerating goal moments of my City watching.
Anyway, fuck Spurs! Lol.

Not for me. I want them to experience real pain like getting hammered by us in a final or sending them down. Only then will it be retribution.

Again, yes, very similar recollections. I wanted to leave, but my Dad forced me to stay and clap the lads. Which was right and proper, on reflection. I remember the Cup being lifted and it was very shiny, probably from the camera flashes, etc. Totally shit moment and one I very clearly recall. Like Tuearts overhead kick...I have a mental image of that too. We all thought it was Asa Hartford, for some reason.

probably not - we had expected to win, having tatered them at Maine Road a few months earlier and outplayed them in the Saturday final. Stoke fans would have been disappointed yes and might hate our money I s'pose.

I dunno Kev, maybe not. They were beaten before the game kicked off were Stoke; watching it over and over again, as we all have, that is clear. Didn't feel like it during the torture, but it certainly was a lame Stoke. I think their fans did not think they could win.
In '81, there were 2 great clubs (!) with a 50/50 shot. And...we were so close on the Saturday before Tommy Hutchinson did what he did.

I had the pleasure of watching the game with a spuds fan, before we kicked off he reminded me of 1981......
Normally I will try and be a little diplomatic with opposition fans on the odd occasion we have trounced someone.

1981 will never be laid to rest for me, I was a 16 year old, and I had to bunk off school to go to the replay.
That fucking Ricky Villa goal always gets to me every time its shown.

Went to every round of the cup that year EXCEPT the cup final replay. Folks wouldn't let me go...as I was fifteen and
still at school and it meant missing a day.
Villa is still a twat and I can recall the hurt so clearly.
Spurs were shit.
And I fucking hate Archibald.
I was at Shite Hart Lane when Graham Baker scored with an outrageous lob in a two one win soon after. I thought at the time that would avenge it...It didn't. Even the 4-3 comeback didn't really.

I do think though that if we can fulfil our potential and regularly win trophies that in a couple of years time my anguish will be downgraded to a rueful tut whenever they show it on every single bloody FA cup programme
