Tevez still here

Who would have thought it?

I was sure he would be gone.Hard to know how much he will feature especially with Dzeko and Aguero forming a promising partnership.

hard to be believe this considering the length of the whole Tevez saga.
I'm guessing that this will be his last season with City.
Hope I'm wrong though.

It really is a strange one you would expect a player looking at moving on since last January would have actually had a club lined up for himself, especially with a weasel like Kia overseeing matters.

He isn't going to like spending too much time benched so he'll either sulk or he'll bust a gut. Hope it's the latter.

Tevez will play a lot - look at how many games we have. He'll start agst Wigan imo. Don't worry about Tevez, we all know with him whatever happens or goes on off the field-he always produces on the pitch.

I didn't expect him to go, a combination of our asking price and his wage demands meant it was highly unlikely. I picked him as our top scorer in the prediction thread though, which I'm regretting since Eddie looks like he is giving him some early competition (and Tevez has to actually get in the team first)

I'm hoping that not being able to find a club to come and get him for a whole summer has tampered his ego a bit and he can play more for the team (both on and off the pitch).

I am sure he will give 100% whilst he is still here and contribute to a very sucsessful season.

Our tough CL draw means there will be no down time for us this season. We need all the quality players we have.

We will likely still have this scenario to deal with again in January.
If he is playing and performing well again it's once again going to be an unwelcome distraction for the club to deal with and the fans.

when it became clear that inter wouldn't be able to stump up the cash for tevez this window, i didn't think he would end up leaving. Like others have said, could happen again next window, but inter have just signed forlan and zarate, so it's not like they are lacking in the st department anymore. Neither one of them is a like for like replacement for eto'o (don't know who would be) ... but they may fit inter's system better, probably better than tevez would too. We'll see if they come back in any time soon, but I don't think it's likely ... unless we go for sneijder / tevez swap.

the charm offensive has begun - happy to stay beyond january, desire to leave only driven by a want to be near his family etc etc

Tevez, Aguero, Dzeko, Balotelli.

Well fuck me sideways if that isn't the most dangerous attack in the league.

I always said he would stay. Not because he wanted to, but because of the huge financial aspect of the matter.

hey, he might even be happy too:

But honestly, fuck his bitch of a wife/baby momma. Tevez is bringing in more money than she could ever dream of and she can't deal with English culture for 3 more years? She could spend every weekend on holiday around Europe and still have more money that she knows what to do with. Hopefully Carlos can put his foot down and show he's the breadwinner in the family

Joorabchian admitted Tevez's wage demands - he is currently thought to be on £286,000 per week - limited the number of clubs that could have feasibly bought Tevez.

"You can get down to teams like Inter, who made a couple of offers, and maybe Real Madrid," Joorabchian said. "You can really narrow it down to four or five teams in the world that could afford him."

Take a pay cut to find happiness?

Sorry, I'm clearly being ridiculous Mr Joorabchian.

If you listen very carefully, you may be able to hear the sound of Kia/Carlitos attempting to remove collective foot from mouth...

Fabulous strike, I was there that night League cup quarter final I believe? Didn't SWP score a blinder too? Alex Song dives in horribly though.

If we field a front two of Tevez and Mario for the Carling Cup I will piss myself!
