So what's next ?

Well , we've had "The Phil Dowd Show" , twice now ( including Wembley)!

We've seen city players booked for petty offences at times when fouls like sissoko's dirty lunge at David Silva's back heels, didn't
even draw a contemptuous grin from phil dowd.

At the Bolton game, we even nearly managed a booking somehow when Davies arm wrestled Vinnie !

However, City are playing absolutely magnificent, clean , attractive and energetic football at a very high tempo.

It really is a joy to watch.

I can't help wondering what will throw this juggernaut off track?

Actually, i'll answer my own question, i think the management team Bobby Manc has set up are wise enough to roll with all the punches coming our way. So i can't see it happening.

I coudn't help thinking during the England game, "roll on next Saturday"

Now that Roberto's got Teves in his firm grasp, i think the team are really going to be chasing all trophies this season.

We will hit a rocky patch at some point and I think this little run of 5 away fixtures in 7 games is going to be tough for us

3 October 2011 13:30 A Manchester United Barclays Premier League
29 October 2011 15:00 H Wolves Barclays Premier League
02 November 2011 19:45 A Villarreal UEFA Champions League
05 November 2011 17:30 A QPR Barclays Premier League
19 November 2011 15:00 H Newcastle United Barclays Premier League
22 November 2011 19:45 A Napoli UEFA Champions League
27 November 2011 16:00 A Liverpool Barclays Premier League

We have a mental toughness that Mancini is instilling in the team, it is going to be interesting

I think the old 'take each game as it comes' cliche applies here. We are looking absolutely awesome, without our best 2 players...NDJ and Tevez. We just train, turn up and try to win every game. And we will win a lot of games this season, a lot.

That's exactly the kind of attitude that I hope our players have. Someone once said that I "You don't decide to be champion. You just win one game after another and one day you wake up as a champion"

I can honestly say that this season is my first where I genuinely beleive we will not cock it up. It has taken me a while to accept that "typical city" now consists of scoring three or four and conceding one, whilst playing attractive passing football.

Possibly the only season ever where I would bet my house on us not getting relegated ... I still ain't putting the bet on mind ;)

Its going to be a hard year this year..... We can rightly expect to win every game with the team we have - Except we wont - and when we dont, the knives will get drawn as pfu.... Bob is right, we will hit a bad patch - maybe two - who fuclin knows - last year everyone had some shite results, most years all the top clubs have some shite results.

the difference between champions and runners up is 50% ability, 50% belief and 50% luck

I know that we'll go through a point in the season when many City fans will be calling for Mancini to be sacked.
But this team is too good to go through a time like that for very long.
We'll get through it and then we will win a trophy.

Thanks for the responses. Of course, I agree with the sentiment we should take each game as it comes.

I was thinking less from the viewpoint of the Football we are playing, because as we have seen ,it is great to watch.
Rather , more along the lines of what might happen, external forces, to stop City playing great, flowing football. and knock us out of our stride.

We've already seen how refs like Phil [strike]cnut[/strike] Dowd loves breaking up our play and calling the game back because he hasn't been on camera enough ( and because it's City).

Or today where the Daily Mail ( yes I know it's crap) , bring headlines knocking Balotelli , yet the actual report is quite positive . The photo has a caption that Balo 'failed' to score in the six minutes he played at the end of the game. When perhaps a more fair minded and realistic comment might have been 'Balo only had six minutes at the end of a game to do anything of note".

Even te Cook revelations ! Why now ? these events are almost a year old.

Crickey, even Arsenal will allow eight goals in to keep City off the Back pages. :-) !
