Actually, that's the Georgian flag! I've just enlarged the picture & you can see how that round 3d shape makes it look like the Union Jack.

Looks nothing like Union Jack though now does it. Looks like like St. George though. Hence "Georgia".

The sad thing is, if he was playing today, it is more than likely that he would get at least one cap considering the lack of depth in quality the England squad has available nowadays.
