The hug

I'm not the most ardent of Mario Balotelli fans - though I do hope he'll mature and come good - but the hug between him and Mancini brought a surprise lump to my throat.

Was almost like he was saying "Sorry Dad, is that better?"

I was glad to see him actually happy when he scored.

Well, we'll hate him in the next 2 weeks, we'll love him the next month and so on...

But he won us the game, against Everton. Il faut rendre à Cesar ce qui appartient à Cesar.

i might just be thinking optimistically but Mario seems to have matured quite a bit from last season. Helping other players up, keeping the ball moving, and working defensively. Still does the arm waving on the ground but much improved

OOOOOOO Balotelli, he's a striker, he's good at darts, an allergy to grass but when he plays he's fuc**n class, he drives around moss side with a wallet full of cash!!

I love the crazy bastard!!

Ditto....he's fucking epic....I don't know why I like him so much but on a personality level I think he's maybe one of my top 3 favourite ever City players.

Still has lots to prove on the pitch but I love him

I think Bobby has got the measure of him and will start to get the best out of him. I think coming on a sub today over Tevez will give him a boost.

I thought he was nothing short of amazing today. Could have had motm as I believe it was him that changed the face of the game.

It was a brilliant moment which made the match for me. Big moment for the manager to bring him on in the first place and no better way to thank him than scoring the goal to win the game.

I've always thought Mario was a fantastic character, loved him from the moment we got him... but have to say i was really annoyed to see him do something so wet as hug the manager.

never mind. Hopefully that's the last of it and he will stop growing up.

I agree entirely Kladze. It was a special moment and clearly meant a lot to him. I love the guy and I hope we are seeing a new more mature side to Mario this season, with the odd eccentricity thrown in for good measure of course. When he received the ball on his own up front with not long left, 3 players surrounding him, I honestly thought he was going to try a rainbow flick over their heads. I was left slighly disappointed when he did the correct thing and just held up play

When questioned after the Game, the interviewer said to Mancini, Why Balotelli and not Tevez? He just shrugged his shoulders as he had no answer. He then went on about Balo being banned for Munich in the week and that he has trained very hard in the last 5-6 weeks and deserved it.

Great moment, I love the guy. I think 99% of all he does is a combination of immaturity and a wind up. Favorite player for sure, and what a great strike and he almost set Silva up for one.

Great day, would have been perfect if Crouch could have finished one more off.

It was a nice moment because it showed a lot of togetherness which is absolutely vital because of the perception on us as a club with mercenaries and blah blah...

We know there is a serious unity in that squad, but over the last 6 months the media look increasingly silly when they try to persue that line.

The tide is turning... soon they'll be all over us, creaming themselves and I'll still hate the cunts.

In the first half, when Dzeko had a shot near the post, the image went on the bench where Balo looked like telling to Tevez that Edin did wrong, he should had passed. Pmsl, he looked so serious.

I want to see Tevez hug after soring against Bayern and Balotelli all hugs at Blackburn then I will know we are together
