No quotes or anything, but this is taken from the Guardian's match report...
Moyes's anger was reserved for the inconsistent refereeing of Howard Webb, who failed to punish Vincent Kompany for anticipating Tim Cahill's foul with a dangerous challenge of his own. The Football Association has confirmed that no retrospective action will be taken.
I would think that is true and would be amazed if charges are brought as there is no way on earth any intent could be proved, the primary reason being that there wasn't any. Poll was a bell end when he was a referee and he's clearly still a bell end now, desperate to get his name mentioned in the media.
This was also in the Guardian's report...
But no player currently matches the importance to City of Silva. Moyes interrupted his stride out of the stadium to shake the hand of the Spanish midfielder and offered a genuine "well played".
If that's true he's got a fucking nerve, Silva should have told him to fuck off before clicking his fingers and getting Nigel De Jong to run in and crunch him.

And so the first with hunt of the season begin's with us! Shades of the Adebayor situation v Arsenal a couple of seasons ago, except in this case, Kompany really did do fuck all.
If the FA want to look at anything/anyone it should be Gollum and his post match comments, surely the fool is bringing the game into disripute with the shit he's spouting!

If you showed me ONLY the point of impact of that foul and taking it out of context, I would say it looked like Kompany did stomp on his ankle, and I am sure a lot of that has been shown. But there is now doubt anything Vinnie did was a result of Cahill's own doing.

If Cahill didn't make an illegal and dangerous challenge he wouldn't have gotten stomped at all, intentional or not.
It's instant karma.

Not said anything thus far about these horrible, horrible bastards and their rather obvious game(?)plan but that picture has made my day. As somebody said before instant karma and all that. Thanks Slim!

Sharing "controversial" opinions for money is now Poll's stock in trade. Just as TalkShite are slaves to the organisations which advertise with them, so Poll is a servant of anyone prepared to hand over some cash for a supposedly juicy quote. Poll, and rent-a-quotes like him, have zero credibility.

The return game in Toffeeland will now be even more interesting.
I'm looking forward to Big Nige rolling his sleeves up and getting 'stuck in' to the likes of Cahill and when those next ninety minutes are up, it could well be a case of "they don't like it up 'em, Captain Mainwaring".

I've been busy all weekend so haven't had a chance to see the incident. Worryingly, everybody seems to be talking about it today.
Anybody got a link to the tackle vid?

Pathetic. Just another ploy by all City haters to try and de-rail one of our players and upset the team. Just shows how worried they are if they'll make something out of this, any sane person would realise that Vince had nowhere to go.
Would this be up for debate if it was Joey Barton, Kyle Henry et al who'd have slid in or is it because it's Gollum and the super effective Tim Cahill are the media's darlings?

Moyes is just pissed off we are too big a club to fucking bully us off the pitch and get away with it. They have got away with kicking absolute fuck out of us for years because it's the way they play.
As for kompany, well if cahill didnt try 2 footing him then the prick wouldn't of been stamped on.

I'd feel sorry for Cahill if he and the rest of his goon squad hadn't been trying to kick us off of the park. Last year side show bob actually tried to tackle this year all he did was hack!

You are right steveo - I don't usually take pleasure in seeing people injured having stuffed my knee up and having to give up my potential career in the RN but in this instance I will make an exception as he absolutely deserved what was coming to him.

This ^^^ There is a football radio show/podcast over here called Men in Blazers (I am pretty sure it is US based show with ex-pats as hosts), and one of the hosts is clearly an Everton supporter, and he basically said that it was a vicotry for the Toffees because they have just exposed City as a one person team and that Rodwell and Chuckle 2 were able to shut him down and make City's attack useless by man marking him. He then went onto to say Mancini bringing on Balotelli and "Price William's Doppelganger" Milner changed the flow of the game.
In fairness he didn't whinge about Kompany and suggested that Nasri really should have taken advantage of the extra space he had, but he pretty much just reflected the poor poor pitiful Everton situation. Ok so they shut down Silva (you park 3 buses and man mark the playmaker it happens), who cares, I see 3 points and a 2-0 goal margin on the scoresheet.
