The target may depend on whether we are still in the CL or not, as if we are he would need to be not cup-tied in that.

There's more chance of me signing for City than Van Persie arriving in January so scrub that one out. As Van Persie is 28 and a pain in the arse, his age and persona dont exactly fit what we are looking for so scrub him out all together in fact.

Yeah, I think Cavani or Lavezzi are the ones he'll be looking at. If not, maybe Pastore.

That won't happen if they're still in the CL I wouldn't think.

I don't actually think we need a top class striker who will just bring the same headaches, one stepping up from the EDS or Guidetti coming back would be the best option.

Or, Ade/Cruz?

Only joking, was thinking more of Beller's ;-)

Cerci..

Not quite a striker but Bobby likes him a lot, can see him moving for him in Jan.

The Tevez replacement was Aguero. No doubt.

Bellamy ?

I thought Cavani's movement was very good having seen him in the flesh, (all the stuff I couldn't see when watching him on TV), but it was one game against a City team whose tactics were a bit spazzy & was there for the taking on the break, so it's hard to judge.

I wouldn't like to see us defend as a team like that v someone like Aguero or especially v Bellamy.

Come on guys we need to think about this, its no good having another big name foreign player use to being the big cheese at his current club.

We need a young, raw talented player who understands he is mint, but will be used as a sub until he either gets better than 2 of our other 3 main strikers, or will just be used when we need him.

Guildetti?? lol

A young striker or a veteran would fit the bill. If we are in either European competition we have easily enough games to play all the strikers.

Luis Suarez for me.

Not cup tied for Europe. Plenty of time between now & Jan for him to realise Liverpool aint all that.

A perfect maniac replacement for Carlos.......Oh wait...

Someone wwho is quick. Apart from Aguero and to an extent Balo our attacking options lack pace.

I'd like to us see bring in someone who is lightening fast.

Does anyone else think Klaas-Jan Huntelaar would still be worth a punt?

I'd rather we bought his team mate. Never been impressed with Huntelaar.

I think a lot of this depends on what Bobby wants to do and whether he is willing to take a punt on someone, short term. All of our recent buys have been established top players or youngters. I'm not sure Bobby is the type to take a punt on someone at the wrong end of his career or a player below that top level but perhaps it's necessary if we want four (content) forwards in our squad.

Agreed. Eto'o would have been perfect. Shame Mancini didn't think of going for a swap deal there...
