Really a bad mistake today in the 1st half but Joleon deserves the same a place near Vinnie for me! Savic would be the best replacement for both!

We didn't have this poll after Vinnie's howler some time ago - Lescott saves more points than he costs in my opinion.

Really taken to Lescott this season, just think him and Vinny work

Didnt have one of his best games today and that was a poor mistake. Little bit sloppy on one near the end as well but overall has had a very good season so far and probably a bit better than Vinnie.

Lescott has looked very good at times this season and seems to be forging a brilliant partnership with Vinny... But just lately he has been prone the the odd fuck up which could prove costly against decent teams. I think he needs a rest.

Lescott got a rest against Bayern - I honestly think we need to strengthen there with a commanding left footed centre half ie there isn't one at the club

I think Lescott is a quality centre half but i also think his price tag clouds a lot of judgement on here.

personally didnt see nowt wrong with his game today - in fact, I thought he kept it together when we looked like we might have wobbled. As a wise man said above, take away the fee and he's a good solid centre back
Gael was MOTM tho

This.
I like Lescott...he just looked a little rusty to me. Sure the international break had something to do with that. He'll be fine next game.

I voted for Lescott but in reality I don't think either he nor Vinny have been 'world class' this season. I think Lescott has been the best of the two so far this season but since we've been playing a more open game, they've both been caught out in the same way they were when Hughes was in charge. They work together quite well but it's not 100% convincing so far.
I would like to see us sign a world class CB, WITH PACE, not to partner Vinny but to partner either of them. Savic is not the answer & I doubt Toure will be. If one gets injured we could have problems.

A fair and balanced post Ted but, just as an aside, I did enjoy Kompany's surge forward, late in the game, when he tried to dribble through the centre of Aston Vanilla's defence, in the style of David Silva.
All in all though, Kompany and Lescott, as you say, have not been totally convincing, not helped by Big Nige being missing for some of the time.
I opted for the 'bring back Boyata' choice solely because playing in Bolton's current defence will either make him or break him; but unfortunately I think it's the latter and we'll then have a lot of work to do to rebuild his confidence.

i think it's good that Boyata is at Bolton & I hope he plays out the season there. He's right on the 'coal face' now, grafting like fuck & we get to find out what he's made of. By the end of the season, we will know if we have a player of the future or if he's a transfer out. If he's having to defend like fuck all season, it's the best possible way to learn how to do it.

I voted for Lescott. I like him and overall imo he has been the better of centre backs so far this season though lately Vinnie has improved again
But I wouldn't mind if we got a left-footed world class centre back to replace Lescott. I just don't have a clue who that might be

Lescott's good player but it's area where I feel we will still strengthen over the next two transfer windows. I reckon Kolo is offski at some stage. Just a gut feeling.
