Liverpool Squad

I was thinking about the alleged Suárez/Evra incident yesterday and my mind wandered onto Kenny Dalglish and the Liverpool squad in general. I'm not hinting at any kind of point here, but is Glen Johnson the only remaining black player on the books? That's highly unusual for a Premier League squad in 2011.
I don't want to speculate about the Suárez/Evra incident either. What I will say, though, is that the more I see of Suárez, the more I detest him. Brilliantly talented, but he makes my blood boil the diving, cheating, play-acting twat. Horrid. He even managed to annoy me by behaving like that against them, which is saying something.

Evra annoys me far more than Suárez ever has or could to be honest. He always seems to have these 'racist' incidents (like at Chelsea a couple of seasons back). I reckon he has a sack of spuds on his shoulder

is there anything in the rules that indicates how many players in the squad must be black or yellow or whatever? take it easy.

Sterling, too (signed from QPR a couple of years ago), although think he hasn't made the first team yet.

I don't like Evra one bit, especially after his World Cup mardarsery, but part of me was willing him to deck Suárez yesterday.

come on man - you're talking about an alleged racist incident and then throw in the fact that liverpool have very few black players! you're right - you're not hinting!!!
anyhoo - by all accounts, suarez is a thoroughly unpleasant chap and has quite a bit of history. more recently - it's a shame that following rodwell getting his red rescinded, the fa can't subsequently do something about suarez's poor leg, which must have been broken in about 15 places...

I'm honestly not hinting at any kind of institutional racism at LFC. I was just explaining my stream of consciousness in order to give some context to what would otherwise have been an even less coherent OP.
For the first-team squad of a Premier League club to only have one black player in 2011 is quite unusual, is it not?

yeah it is. can't find any stats for number of black players per club, might have been interesting. didn't everton once get accused of being unwilling to sign black players?

There were often mumblings that Jack Walker preferred not to sign black players, and I think I recall rumours of a row over the signing of Nathan Blake. I say this very tentatively, though, as I may be completely wrong.
A lot of managers during the 80s held the opinion that 'white guys have brains, black guys have brawn'. The game's come a long way. These days, it would be odd to see only one black player in a PL starting 11, let alone a 25-man squad.

Pesonally I don't give a flying one how many black, yellow or white players we have only that we have good players

I'm not sure about signing yellow players. Signing Homer Simpson would be almost as bad as bringing Dunney back.
If, as Evra claims, there are witnesses, the book should be thrown at Suarez for this. If it turns out Evra is lying, he should get the same punishment Suarez would have got. Branding someone a racist should not be taken lightly.

Suarez: "Hey, Evra, you look like a monkey"
Evra: "well you look like a fuckin hamster who got the raw deal there pal??"
Suarez: "not me...look at Rio, he looks like a camel"
Evra:"who says? Dirk Kuyt?...the man who looks like a deformed hyaena?"
Suarez:"fuck off...Dirks a gem...can run all day..."
Evra:"yeh...just like a fuckin hyaena"
Suarez: "I'll fall over and roll about if you keep on..."
Evra:"yeh and I'll go on strike now fuck off and change ya bedding"

Yes they did. Very heavily. Institutional racism was the phrase used. I believe it was addressed, but the last of all clubs.
Evra is such an obnoxious twat that you have to take anything he says with a pinch of salt. He was the main trouble-maker in South Africa for France, and I certainly wouldn't put it past the card-waving idiot to make something up to try and ban a Liverpool player.

Evra is a first class CUNT.
He can shove his race card up is arse. Funny how it's always that cunt it happens with and you don't hear it from anyone else.
