Was thrown onto the outer perimiter of the pitch,don't those miscreants realise that someone has to pick it up?
The club arranges for the fans to have mini plackards to support the team with and they throw it back in their faces!!

This was an absolutely stupid thing to do. Before I saw this I had thought that they were throwing the paper balls at the security cunts in protest at what happened at the weekend. I had thought that was a good idea.

it was really embarrassing to see on the television, i can tell you that much. My heart kinda sank really. Stupid.

Tho to be fair, it is sort of a City sense of humour that would bombard the opposition with paper and not an actual missile capable of causing an injury. Still looked horrible tho.

I hate it when someone hits me with screwed up paper; it hurts!

I like many have been scarred with a paper cut. It can be one of the most painful injuries sufferable, worse than a Chinese burn.

Showsec need to do something to prevent this from occurring ever again.

Hardly dangerous but that's not the point. Throwing it generally was daft, but throwing it at the Villarreal players was idiotic. The stadium announcer pointed out that we could be penalised and so they threw more on. So well done. The club listened to the fans by moving the away fans, the security was very light, probably based on problems from Saturday and the club tried something nice with the coloured card. And those same fans embarrassed the club and potentially left it with a fine. Brilliant

no one in this thread has suggested it was okay behavior or condoned the actions of the few who decided to hoist the paper projectiles.

it wasn't okay. it was embarrassing, and unsportsmanlike. End of story.

but when united throw dozens of beach balls on the pitch at anfield after being warned...that's hijinxs!

I remember going to England v Sweden at the swamp and people throwing paper aeroplanes off the second tier was the highlight of the game
