My opinion it is Joleon lescott?
Very harshly dropped at Munich, been fantastic since.
Deserves alot of praise as alot of fans have seen him as our weak link.
Special mention to Gael Clitchy, i think for the money we paid, buy of the season upto now.

Eh ??... bollocks has he been the unsung hero , if anyone deserves that title then its Clichy.Lescott had a good game against the Munchenhausens but overall he has been average to slightly above average at best.

Unsung hero is yaya toure. Played in every game except for yesterday and is the anchor for us in possession. Allows these 20+ passing moves into goals to happen and is absolute class. If silva is pulling the strings up top, yaya is orchestrating from the back

I'll go with Lescott too. I think he has a really positive effect on the team & although we've not been totally convincing at the back, he's been as good as anybody there. Dropping him v Bayern was a rare throwback to Bob's whimsically ludicrous, game losing, gambles from last season, like picking Boateng & Boyata v Arsenal.

I slag him for his ability as a def midfielder, not as a footballer. He's a world class player. Just not if he has to protect the defence, where he runs out of steam & leaves holes. Alongside people like Milner, in a balanced midfield, he's an altogether different proposition & actually good defensively too.

Kolorov has improved a hell of a lot this season, he is most improved! unsung hero....

Kolarov has been really impressive in a couple of games this season.

Not so much in the derby match, he came on and celebrated 3 goals...don't think he touched the ball.

Barry cannot be "unsung" when so many people around here sing his praises.

No, I'm sorry, I know what he's supposed to do when someone runs off behind him into the box & if he fails to do it, he's failing the team, just as AJ was v Wolves.

Maybe part of the reason that Yaya doesn't track back is because of our faith in our defense to snuff out attacks. And then once we get the ball back, Mancini doesn't like to hoof it up field which puts us on the back foot again.

I've seen a few times this season where the opposition attack runs by Yaya, only for our defense to snuff it out. When they win it back, Yaya is occupying the gap in between the defense and midfield, allowing for an easy outlet pass to start a quick attack. If he tracked back, our only option would be to look for a long ball and hope that we keep it. When Yaya can get the ball in with time to look up, Silva, Balo, Nasri, Dzeko... are all making runs further up field to score a goal.

You can't let top players have the ball unmarked in our penalty area. It's a weakness, not just from Yaya, & we can't win the Champ's Lg until we solve it.

Think Gaz Baz would be my under-rated player of the world. Never seems to get any credit and always seems to be the first to get criticsed where I sit in the ground, gives us everything and Liverpool were a joke to ever to try and negotiate and just pay the money instead.

It really annoys me when Joleon gets dropped or the media say he's not top class, think he's been quality for the last 18 months and I hope it's the same for the rest of his career.

I would say Carl gets my vote.Very consistent in his opinion of Lescott despite him playing really well almost all the time.
