Absolutely fantastic today. I went to the game with a bloke who has never really understood why he plays regularly for city and england, safe to say by the end of the game, he was well aware of what he brings to the table. The amount of times he turned a last ditch challenge/interception into a chance to break forwards was phenomenal.

This time last year I was in a minority of fans who almost had to apologise to 'the great unwashed' for defending him.
I could see, though, by the quality of his passing in the Dublin Super-Cup that he, like James Milner, had clearly been working on his game over the Summer

He can be our next Pat Vieira. He's already a bit slow but has great positional awareness and his experience will be valuable in the future.
Glad to see him doing well AND receiving the praise for it he deserves. Keep it up Gareth!

This rotation business is working. Barry looked really sharp yesterday, sharper than I've ever seen him. He's always been one of the world's best at putting out fires but his creative play from deep was world class yesterday, increasing the tempo of our play.

Fantastic professional - what Slur Alex wouldn´t give for someone like him in his squad to replace the family wrecker

In the Mail on Sunday he covered the most yards of a City player and unbelievably reached the fastest speed (must ahve been over the first 5m)

Thought yesterday was one of his best games, particularly as he seemed to be doing all the midfield work by himself (looking at you, Yaya. Again). Couldn't believe he didn't get MOTM, although I forgot to vote, so I'm as much to blame as anyone else.

Thought Barry was top class and Yaya had a good game as well. Only seen the game twice though so maybe I should see it again to check if I was mistaking Yaya for someone else.

Yaya looked lively to me; also benefitting from not playing midweek.

Don't think he touched the ball for the first hour. Just felt like another of those games when you wonder what he actually brings to the side and why he never gets hauled off

He did a lot of pressing in the oppo's half & I have no complaints at all about his performance.

Another understated efficient MOTM performance. I think i counted at least 5 occassions he just turned the play around completely with a simple swivel and clinical pass forward.

When on form he is so good you just don't notice him, too quiet, simple and slick. It is like the ball just passes through him and bends to where it should go. Class.

I am not a fan of Barry as I think that he is such an average player. But in fairness to him he has put in some decent performances of late!

Maybe he thinks Barry's last 3 performances have been decent?
