What and play him up front à la Chris Samba? Is this a January window or a new striker thread?

If we had to buy a forward, I'd be leaning towards Cavani, but I'd leave it until next summer if at all. Our three senior strikers are young, in-form and have decent fitness records (less so Mario), so I think we'll be OK.

I think we needed a Tevez replacement more when there were still question marks over Balotelli. However, not only has he shown that he can be relied upon when needed, he's also shown that, out of the remaining three, he's the best one at leading the line on his own.

I can't even say how impressed I am with him.

Sooner or later, we need to start finding our own young (quality) players.

Apologies. Squad replacement. Personally I was Of a winger to give us width if needed, or has been discussed a world class centre half(Kolo thread)If we sell Tevez will Mancini just bank the cash, or buy.

I think Mancini wants to bring that Cerci in the Jan transfer window! He's one of Fiorentina's top scorers with 4 goals from 7 games.

Obviously a lot will depend on Tevez and Kolo Toure as I think we've only got 1 spot free in the 25 man squad so someone will have to leave.

Personally I'd love to see us swap Tevez for Cavani and K Toure for a couple of million and get another centre half. Although I've no clue as who to get!

I'll volunteer for that role.

And I'll do it for only 10K a week.

Hardly volunteering at 10k a week, big improvement on the current guy though (Tevez).

Ok 5K a week then, my final offer - and I'll never refuse to warm up.

Stick in a bid for Van Persie, Wenger will lose the plot

I would put in a bid for Van Persie on once condition that him and Nasri must shoot from outside the box. We may want players from our feeder club but I'm sure we'd rather play like Barca than Arsenal.

Firstly I agree with others, we already replaced Tevez with Aguero. As for a 4th striker, well its a bit late now because he would cost an arm and a leg, but I said to a few mates over the Summer that as 4th choice (when it looked like Tevez was off) we should have gone for Demba Ba. His scoring record is ridiculous, and he went to Newcastle for nothing, he would have done an excellent job for us.

So in answer to the original question I would prefer us to bring in a lesser name, rather than spend a fortune on someone like Lavezzi. We have enough quality strikers and we just need someone willing to play a bit part and cover us in 'easier' games.

Jason Roberts.

That way we can get someone defending us on the BBC.

You know it makes sense.
