He'll look good in blue. Lets face it, he's gonna get bored of Barcelona soon and will want a new challenge. Barcelona is a shit hole with nothing to do and only a couple of decent restaurants. Woman are pig ugly too.

God I would jizz my pants if he ever came to us.

It's absolutely insane that he scored his 100th goal in 2010, that's a phenomenal return since then.

It's incredible how few of those goals are simple tap ins. Almost all of his goals are brilliant.

Even the simple tap ins are brilliant though. It's weird. They just seem better and classier than a Kevin Davies tap in for example. An air of elegance in how he finishes. It's magnificent stuff.

Anyone who actually says Silva is level with him needs to watch that and then if they still believe that have their heads checked. The man is an actual genius.

Never criticise a man until you've walked a mile in his shoes.
That way when you do criticise him you'll be a mile away.
And you'll have his shoes.

number 19, 'cana messi,cana messi,cana messi,cana messi,cana messi,cana messi,cana messi,cana messi,cana messi,cana messi,cana messi,cana messi,cana messi,cana messi,cana messi,cana messi,cana messi,cana messi,cana messi,cana messi, gol, gol, gol'.

Can he compete with the likes of pele, maradona until he's won a world cup? I wasn't in the pele or maradona generation but from what i've seen i think messi is just a class apart from anyone who has ever played.

Absolutely unreal. Never saw pele maradona etc but surely they couldn't have been much better, if at all, than him!

Probably not but it's hard to say, because you're not allowed to tackle anybody now. In their day, particularly Pele's day, you could tackle from behind with both feet off the ground & get away with it half the time if you got the ball (ish). They just wouldn't let him do half the things he does.

I've never seen a player so constantly brilliant as Messi though & he appears to be superior to them but you would have to see them in the same conditions & with the same fitness training to judge fairly. I recon Cruyff for instance would be unstoppable now.

It looks like he is taking more free kicks this year which I don't think he has done much of in the past.I think once he gets the hang of these his numbers will get even better.
I think the tackling is still as hard as before maybe a little gentler but not much just that players get punished for it now whereas before they might have got away with it

There's absolutely no doubt at all that Messi is a wonderful player; a genius, and the greatest player of a generation by far. But, like others, I am loathe to place him in the same company as Pele, Maradona, Best, Cruyff etc. They had to contend with a heavier ball, shite pitches, poor training regimes (by today's standards) AND tackling which would draw many red cards in today's game.

The best we can do is to fully appreciate Messi's greatness in the game he graces NOW - while recalling greats of the past but realising that they were playing, essentially, a different game.

Without messi we are better than barca, but with messi blackburn would tear us a new arsehole or 7.

That's how good he is.

I really hope we draw them in the next round of the CL for some twisted reason that i can't explain.
