I don't know if Bob thinks Kolo has a future & needs easing back in, or whether he's soon to be aa goner (or a Gooner arf!) but either way, I'm bloody certain that if we get an injury at CB and Savic plays there we will win fuck all; he is nowhere near ready & we need more than three players to rotate for that position anyway (the rags have five for example) .
So, I don't think I'm alone in the thought that we need a CB in Jan.
I've know asked this before but it didn't get much response: has anyone got any suggestions knocking about Europe that are worth keeping any eye on between now & then? Anything is Spain or Italy for example? I'm at a loss.
Or are we just going to have to bite the bullet & sign a Cahill type geezer & hope they step up ?

Heard the name but wouldn't know him. Just Googled him & up came piece about Nasri recommending Wenger to sign him for Arsenal last season.

Always thought Chiellini was a quality left footed centre half, but I've not watched Italian football for some time so don't know how he's performing of late - anyone?

we've got Micah who can play there, and Nedum to step in if needed, and I rate Nedum above Kolo and Savic atm.

Think experience is essential but if I were having a punt I´d go for Dominguez at Atletico. He is the future and already has trophies to his name. Very mature and assured for his age

Bob seems to have written off Ned though. I'd rate him above those two but I still don't think he's strong enough aerially to play CB v the Crouches etc (as we saw v Spurs under Hughes). Deffo a better option than Savic though. I would have played him in the LC if it was up to me.

whats wrong with cahill mate.
He is good in air.good for teams like stoke qpr blackburn who play such long balls.
Plus at cl we have savich experience, and vinne and lescott.
Infact cahill is the best.very little money to offer as he is in last 6 month of his contract.we have good relation with bolton.may be onouha may be included in the deal.

As another decent squad player/cover, Chris Samba for me. He's used to playing in the Prem so won't be a gamble from Jan-May and Blackburn might just want to cash in now as they look doomed and will want him off the wage bill next season.

Re Cahill, he's dropped a fair few bollocks when you watch him closely. He would need to step up a level but perhaps he can.
Re Samba, not a bad shout for a squad PL CB at the right price of course. Be a bit scarey in Europe but in games like v QPR would be the star performer. Better than he looks with the ball at his feet too.
Seen Dominguez a few times but never really watched him, probably because I've been marvelling at Barca (or Aguero) too much to notice the defence.
Edit: Chiellini is getting bad reports.

Forgot about him, we were supposed to be close to signing him in the summer of course. Perhaps he was supposed to be doing the job Savic is doing & savic would have been loaned out.

Vertonghen and Subotic are both decent shouts.
Definitely not Chielini. He's been very poor when I've seen him in the last couple of seasons. Chance to watch him tonight against Cavani and Lavezzi.

Serie A leader Juventus' match at Napoli on Sunday has been postponed due to flash flooding and stormy weather in the southern city. The match was slated to kick off at 8:45 p.m. (1945 GMT) at the San Paolo stadium. Officials were considering moving it to Monday, but that has been declined by both clubs. More likely they will play ay Dec. 14 or in January. Streets in Naples and surrounding areas of the city were flooded, and the ANSA news agency reported that one man was killed when a tree fell on his car.
The bad weather has moved in the Campania region, and especially in Naples and its province, where this morning the people woke up in a violent storm. There is a dead man in Pozzuoli, a town in the province of Naples due to flooding, and the Prefecture of Naples has postponed the rescheduling of Serie A Juventus-Napoli. The clubs are working on a settlement date of recovery. Rejected the idea of playing on Monday night because the South American players of both teams (Cavani, Lavezzi and Vidal all) because it could not be summoned by the respective national qualifiers. So the first hypothesis is Wednesday, December 14, the only remaining free midweek in the calendar year or another date will be fixed in January.

Subo would be amazing. The guy is a rock.
CB defo needed in Jan though, I have high hopes for Savic but we need someone top class for now.
If Kompany get injured we would have a big problem.

don't laugh, but Coloccini is having a good season (29 years old though, so a touch on the high side)
