The FA Cup final day or 1-6 at OT?

The FA Cup final day or 1-6 at OT?

Postby Moonchesteri » Mon Nov 07, 2011 5:23 pm

I've seen surprisingly many comments like "23rd October was the best day of my life" or something similar.
I personally find that extremely strange given it's only few months since we lifted the cup which, at least for me, was the best day of my life. I will never ever forget it and I reckon nothing will come even close.

so which did you enjoy more?

The FA Cup Final meant more. It still does.

FA win until we win 4 on the bounce, then the 6-1.

FA Cup win was the best day ever as a City fan, for me. Nothing runs it close. The 6-1 was amazing, the 5-1 in 89 equally so, given how little chance we had in that game. That moment when Yaya lashed it in though, I still watch it once or twice a week and I still get goosebumps. Amazing moment. We went fucking mad.

My only regret is that my lad had enough points for the semi, but I had to go on my own to the final as he was just short. To be at Wembley when the glory years started was priceless and I too wept like a toddler!

The FA Cup was massive, it took a huge monkey off our back...... BUT....

I'm not sure that I will ever see the likes again of the complete and utter destruction of the scum at the swamp.

I'm pretty confident that in the next few years we will become one of the most successful teams in the world, we will win lots of pots and lots of titles, each one will be very very special, but every city fan alive today will remember the 23rd October 2011, the day the tables turned

In the cold light of day, I've had more pleasure & inner satisfaction from the rag destruction than the FA Cup, much more tbh, but I shouted so loud when Yaya Toure's shot hit the net at Wembley, that I lost my voice, so for sheer mentalness & instant pleasure, it would be the Cup final.

If I could only have one though, it would deffo be the rag battering. That's the best result I've seen as a City fan.

FA Cup final without a shadow of a doubt. I dislike United intensely, but i'd take a 4-0 defeat to them at Eastlands next year if it meant we were going to win another major trophy.

The FA Cup final win was magical. What more can I say?

But the 1-6 (not 6-1 you notice) was fucking awe inspiring, sent shock waves through the WHOLE of WORLD football, caused me to laugh like a village idiot, and left a big, cheesy, smug grin on my face which still hasn't gone away a fortnight later.

I suppose I do have the advantage of having seen us win things before but either way, it's the 1-6 for me.

Hmm, I felt numb after winning the cup but partied for 2 days straight after the 1-6.

What would we do if we won the chumps league?
