City stars Adam Johnson and Pablo Zabaleta have tied their futures to Roberto Mancini's Blue Revolution by signing new contracts.

England winger Johnson has penned a new four-year deal that wil keep him at the Etihad Stadium until 2019 while Argentina defender Zabaleta has extended his stay until 2015.

Johnson has been linked with admiring Premier League rivals in the media this season but said: "I wouldn't have signed if I didn't see a big future here.

"I'm delighted to sign, I'm just glad it's all sorted out. It was never on my mind when I was playing. You can't let that happen, contracts can take a long time these days.

"I want to become a top player, I want to keep winning things and picking up medals.

"This is such an exciting time to be at the club, things are moving so fast and there's been something new every day in the two years that I've been here.

"It's great being part of it - my game's improved, I'm playing for England and in the Champions League, that probably wouldn't have happened if I hadn't come here."

Fans' favourite Zabaleta, whose previous deal was due to expire next year, said: "I'm in a very good team, and I try to do my best for the club, the team and the fans.

"I didn't think twice, I gave a quick answer because I was so happy to sign."

Very pleased that Zaba has signed an extension. A model pro who always gives his all for the club and an indispensable squad member

How come the club are dealing with this now? I thought they'd said any contract negotiations would be dealt with in close season, ie. De Jong?

He's been offered a new contract, he refused it.

Pleased for Zab's, one of my favourite players, if not thee.

AJ is improving and very glad that he wants to stay and fight it out, well done that man.

Glad Zabba has been rewarded. Deserves it more than most. An old school type player who actually cares about the club; few & far between these days.

I'm starting to think the same thing - I hope we're wrong though. Good news about the other two though. Really happy for Zabs to sign especially.

De Jong will sign i reckon if not well sell him in the summer for cash.

One of our longest serving and loyalest players. He has over 100 starts for the team and gives 100% on the pitch. He's been a huge part of our success and it's nice to see him rewarded with a new contract.

Even if he's not starting every game, we need him in the squad and fighting for a place. It's an important position and there are no concerns when he starts. His versatility is exactly what we need. We'd have been in trouble last season if he hadn't moved across to left back, even though in some ways that was the chance that Micah was able to use to win the starting berth.

Great news about these two.
It is impossible to underestimate the value of Zabba to the team, apart from on the pitch and the general total pro attitude. If any player from the midfield back to Joe is not 100% on his game Zabba would nab their place in a flash.
