1-6 was a wake up call - yeah yeah yeah

If I hear 1-6 was a wake up call being reported again i will bang my cup down in frustration

I guess it was a wake up call if you were say catching 40 winks and someone goes and starts pulling all your teeth out one by one - yes you would wake up.

A better way of describing it would be my worst day in football for 40 years - oh yes you did say that - but no one keeps repeating that

Perhaps the most accurate way of describing it was that you got owned

Whatever - if this was a wake up call why on earth did you look half asleep at newly promoted Swansea when you managed to scrape past them 0-1 and they missed two sitters

OWNED thats what you were

Couldn't agree more but you'll never see or hear Taggart admit it. He'll never take his blinkers off but smashing them 6-1 was the perfect reply from his "noisy neighbours". Let's hope we can run up a rugby score when they come to Etihad and we can show him how noisy we can really be.

If we lost 6-1 would it be better to just cry about it and let it affect us negatively or for it to have a positive impact and for us to up our game?

Hard to say, we really haven't been very good at losing this season.

yes we have! But that's all their doing. Yes 6-1 was amazing but we know how many time United have won the league from even bigger gaps. That 5 points can evaporate just as quickly as it opened up. Let's keep our feet on the ground.

Batter the fuckers again at our place and that will be his coffin call.

If we are still 5 or more points clear after the Arsenal home game i'll be much more confident because we'll have got all the big away games out of the way (except Arsenal) and our neighbours will still have them all to visit (except Scouse 1). Their away form last season and so far this suggests they'll drop points.

You really think it's upped their game though? They've got none of that confidence that they had earlier in the season.

No let's not do that at all. Our feet have been on the ground for fucking years.

You're always trying to tell everyone to calm down or not get excited. Give over will you, because this is very exciting and I don't know about you but I'm floating at the minute.

And I've waited years for this so stop being such a fucking wet blanket.

But it hasn't had a positive effect and made them up their game as Patrick has stated. Hollow words from Taggart I'm afraid

Well they've won every game since.
That's not the point but if we lost 6-1 would it be better to dwell on it and cry or just move on?

Because if we don't win the league we'll look like fucking idiots the way we've bigged up ourselves. By all means be excited when we've done it but there's so far to go before that.

Freshie and Bluej get my point

They are very very average since the 1-6 and its shows - it wasnt a wake up call it was a confidence sapping reality

He admitted it was his worst day in football. How is that not admitting it?

And they've won every game convincingly since the derby haven't they? I forgot how they played Swansea off the park yesterday

Does it matter? 3 points is 3 points. It's a sign of character that they are playing crap and scraping wins.

Yes it does matter because when they come up against a decent team they will get beaten based on their current form so the 6-1 defeat hasn't been the wake up call that they think it has.

1-0 wins at home to Sunderland and away to Swansea are hardly convincing

They haven't upped their game as such. They were pummelled at scouse 2 and had the crossbar and Evertons ineffectiveness in front of goal to thank for the win. Swansea gited them a goal and missed a sitter. They won't get away with performances like that at the likes of Spurs and Arsenal.

No it's more like a sign of good fortune
