Napoli or Scouse?

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

Napoli or Scouse?

Postby Piccsnumberoneblue » Mon Nov 21, 2011 7:01 am

I know it doesn't work like this and that we can reasonably hope to win both games, but if you could only win one or t'other, which would you pick?
Win at Napoli and we're through with a good chance of beating anybody (and I mean anybody) over two legs. Improved coefficient thingies for the future and all the advantages that brings.
Or stay at least five clear at the top with one more of our trickiest fixtures out of the way.
I'd take gubbing Scouse. I want the title so much now that we've got ourselves in this position.

I just dont know

Getting through to the knockout of the CL would be brilliant and we need to beat Napoli to do that

Winning the prem is by far the most important - but we dont need to beat liverpool to do that but it would help

I guess, being a sceptic, i would take 3 points at scouse

I'd rather beating scouse, drawing Napoli with no traveling fans injured and hammering bayern. Imagine the headlines "Munich Come Up Short"

scouse. I would prefer to win the league (which comes from maintaining the gap at the top) rather than winning at Naples, I would still consider a draw is a decent result in Italy.

Napoli.

And then on Wednesday you can ask again and I'll say Scouse #1.

I want to win the next game. Beyond that is not something I tend to think about.

Prem over CL no excuses, reasoning or other nonsense to take away full power in the Prem.

We will be looking to win both games though, so..

Napoli for me and if we have to consider losing to the scouse I think it would take a little pressure of us having the dream of going the whole season unbeaten.Thats been done before so fuck it its not record breaking.

Scouse for me Cl can wait we have got plenty of time to establish ourselves in that competition and it will be good to listen to Alan Hansens excuses.

Purely from a logic point of view, we have clear daylight between us and everyone else in the league, whilst the Napoli game is effectively a playoff for progression.

3 more points in the prem please. I'd rather win the league than the CL.

We can win both games though and rest players against arse in the CC. .

I want the title so much now that we've got ourselves in this position.

you know it does not work like that..................

But I will play

Reluctantly (and I expect I will be in the minority) I will take the win over Napoli. I genuinely think that we would not let a loss in the PL become a run and I think that we will be the team that stretches away after xmas so we could swallow it. Getting through (or not)the qualifying stages of the CL will have a big impact on our image and marketability and the club needs that - and I think that we would give concern to any club over 2 legs - would love to thrash the scum - now that would be a fucking wake up call!!!!!

P.s. Did your question allow for a draw against the scouse? if so I will defnitely take that

Ermm I'd not really thought that part through tbh. I suppose not because I'd take a win and a draw either beating Scouse or Napoli. So that isn't much of a dilemma to have really.

Well given that I would take a draw at scouse 1 anyway having that option would mean that I definitely would choose a win at Napoli

Harder choice if the selection of a Napoli win meant that we gave up our unbeaten run in the PL - but even so I would still (reluctantly) go for it
