Fourty eight fucking quid. This is why football games are almost impossible for me to attend. That day would cost best part of £100 for me. I really can never justify that :/
Ridiculously expensive these days.

Last time I went to Liverpool it was the 2-2 about this time two years ago. It was a piss-boring game, despite the scoreline, and I was rough as fuck from the day before (I'd done Christmas Market, a dinner at COMS in honour of Bernard Halford, Christmas Market, House Party). As I got back on the coach to come home, I won the raffle which almost covered the cost of my ticket. That's the last away game I went to. Times have been hard since then.
Oh and Anfield is shit.

Can't remember the year but the score if my memory is correct was 1-1

Enjoy the trip, lads.
I think we lost 3-1 at Anfield when Andy Hinchcliffe scored a deflected free-kick. I was at the other end from you Beeks. First game of the 5-1 season, was it?
I was sure when I started typing. Now I can't be sure. A good day out despite the shitheap of a stadium/city anyway.

That must have been really difficult to do. Did similar at Leeds once but that's another story.
I do think I'm wrong here and it is a different game if it was a tap-in. I definitely remember him scoring a deflected free-kick from about twenty-five yards. It was great, even from the other end, if somewhat jammy.
Hoping that tomorrow you get another great moment to half-remember parts of in twenty years. :-)

I've done a lot of away games in my time but I'd never been to Goodison before I went in 07/08 or Anfield before I went in 09/10.
Two of the shittest, least atmospheric grounds I've ever been to. You actually leave Goodison with a sore neck thanks to where they put the away fans. Rubbish.
I do love the city itself though. And the Everton fans were sound company before the game. None of that 'go to a different pub' shit like you get at Bolton, Wigan etc. Hate all that.

Well he only ever scored 8 career goals for us so you might be right about that too haha
At least I remember who we were playing ;-)

Had to stand on the Kop in Aug 1986 when we got a 0-0 draw, second game of the season. Ian Rush got sent off after the final whistle for complaining to the ref, after Clive Wilson fisted a goalbound header over the bar from his spot on the post - the Kop screamed and amazingly the ref didnt see it. Some major supressed smiles on my face as we left the ground I can tell you.
We had Trevor Christie up front and not surprisingly we went down that season. Good atmosphere inside Anfield though the ground itself was a shithole, though Im harking back to the old Kemlyn Road stand days. The Main Stand there is still the same now.

I was sat in the Main Stand at Anfield in Barclays seats when David White scored two goals to pull us back from 2-0 down.
When the first went in there was a muffled cheer where I was, but when the second went in about thirty of us stood up giving it large!
Surprised we stayed in the ground and in one piece.
Hope those going tomorrow enjoy it!
