New Year Fixture and the return game v Scouse 1

Why are we allowing ourselves to be bent over and spanked by the TV companies?
We play away at Sunderland on New years day at 15:00 on SKY tv and then play liverpool 2 days later at 8pm, yet liverpool do not play on new years day, they play on 30th December so have 4 days rest up to our game!

This is just fuclin stupid, why do we have to play on the Tuesday (3rd Jan) when our next game is the 16th Jan? Its stupid fixture scheduling like this that could screw us over.

How do they get set? I've never bothered to find out, just always assumed that each club had to basically agree.
