Do I prefer the old days?

I think i'm confused. Why am I confused? I'm confused because we are the favourites to win every game. When we win, I dont have the same feeling of statisfaction as I used to do as when we were the underdogs. Now i'm not saying that I dont enjoying winning, but my peak as a city fan was the semi final win against the rags. Nothing seems to compare to that and that day was the best day as a city fan. Is it just me, or is it a part of our nature. I hope we dominate football, but will I enjoy any victory we take part in more than that semi final?

You're definitely confused. I absolutely love the fact that we are favourites going into most games and it is something that I could easily get used to. Why? Because it shows that we are the best team in the country and that is the best feeling in the world! :-)

Football was much better when you had wooden rattles and you could stand up and a bag of bits at the chippy cost you a tanner

Maybe you should adopt a shit second team, someone local to you? That way you can get your morbid losing mentality satisfaction (i have one too dont worry!) but still enjoy watching City win so much.
If you want a Saturday afternoon facepalming session, try support Stockport County, my god they are shit.

I share the confusion, going to Coventry worried if we could win was more exciting than going to most of the Premier League games this season. However the joy of playing the top teams feels the same especially as we will hit a bad patch later this season "same old City" will return but hopefully only a couple of times a season

Tomorrow we play Liverool and I expect us to win.But do i prefer the chance we might win. Of course I want us to win the league, but its a big culture shock. I never want us to become the same as the rag fans and forget the hard times. These are the times that made us great fans.

I have to disagree, I much prefer the way we are now. I love the fact that I can watch a game knowing that we are strong and good enough to beat anyone.
I remember watching City as I grew up and as soon as we went a goal down you just knew what was going to come next a defeat there were highs and there were lows god were there lows, But when I watch us now I just know we will score, no matter what our opponents do. If we go a goal down I don't worry like I used to.
The futures bright the futures blue!!!!

I'm the same. Over thirty odd years I've been used to City snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. It's different now and the club has moved forward such a lot in the last three years.
Not knowing which City would turn up one week to the next brought us all together. We'll find lots of hangers on who don't know what it means to be a true City fan. They haven't sat through a Stuart Pearce season or remember Trevor Christie and Mark Lillis. They'll never throw a pie at Peter Willis for sending off Andy May, or know the meaning of Niall Quinns Disco Pants.
I'll always remember waiting to go into Wembley at the semi getting drunk on the roundabout and celebrated the victory like never before. To me, looking back, that was the end of the old City and the beginning of the new. It'll never ever be the same.
Still enjoying the journey and the football though.

I have - I've bought one of the season tickets they're advertising at the swamp. I can now happily go and watch a shit team who always look likely to concede, are skint, play in an old fashioned stadium and have grumbling fans.

Not only am I loving the new days, I think the word "statisfaction" is fucking brilliant and am looking for a home. Maybe it's something we can apply to RH whenever he comes up with obtuse facts to make his point.

It's the old days that are making what's happenning now as sweet as they are. I keep shaking my head over how easy we are to support at the moment.
The important thing is to remember the old days!!! To appreciate where we are and not be arrogant. To appreciate that we are in the PRIVELEGED position of playing in the Chumps League. That if we come third in the group we are in the PRIVELEGED position of being the Europa League. A position that many clubs and their fans wish they were in.
Stay grounded blues. Stay humble. And enjoy and appreciate what we have.

I can't believe people expect us to win away to scouse, yes we have a good chance, but I reckon there is as much chance of a win a loss or a draw as well
Perhaps those who don't like this success have become a bit too arrogant, perhaps they are the ones who will have the biggest disappointment today, next week or whenever we get beat
I see a team playing the best football of my life, including the vague memories of the 60s. Enjoying it? Yes, fucling wonderful. Shitting myself today? You betcha... And not a docs appointment in sight

i'm fcukin lovin being favs every week always knowing we can score, it doesn't worry me when we've been a goal down .
As for a second team mines Valence ice hockey reminds me of the old city ,changin coach nearly every year( this week the "new"coach appointed at the start of the season was sacked !) playing shit, never knowin if we'll turn up, i'm part of the staff and we've won 3 out of 12, after last nights win we've moved off the bottom but still in deep shit next up is a 26 hours return journey to Brest who are 2nd got a bad feeling for that match but you never know could pull off a great win , i've almost forgot what being in a relegation fight was like
all this helps me to keep my feet on the ground

I think this season the match I was most worried in was the Wolves league match. I wasn't worried at all against Newcastle or the filth or tottenham, which I suppose is a little weird.

Funny that, I felt exactly the same about that match and against Fulham.
