It's a shame that we lost such a quality player we put the funds into developing.
It's a bigger shame that an ungrateful little cunt like sturrudge is such a quality player.

He had a good season, but because Torres is shite for a while now, Anelka is Anelka and Drogba is getting older. Remember him last year at Bolton. Imho, Ched Evans was as good as him, but he had his problems.
He is the type of press player like Wellbeck. They did a thew great games and now they are top class. If "Villa's Boss" will be sacked, i am certaing he won't be used like he is now.

brilliant player, it's scary how good he'll be in a few years. There's still people on here though who'll claim he's no better than Chad Evans.

No, now he is better, but they were the same. The problem is that Evans went to Sheffield and Daniel went to Chelsea. He had better coaches, better atmosphere to grow as a player. If Evans had his conditions, he would had been as good as him.

Somehow I doubt that

Agreed.Ched had limited pure talent but worked hard and arguably has done as well as he could. Sturridge has always been a very talented lad but with a very big head that got in the way.I know we would have tried very hard to keep him but his wage demands for so little experience were a joke. His progress at Chelsea hasnt been very quick and it might well have been quicker at City but we will never know.

He will be over hyped, he'll make the world cup squad, score a couple in the groups by coming on as a sub late on and seeing us through to the knock out's. He'll start the quarter final, which will go to pen's, he'll miss his and never be heard of again.
I feel used by him.

If Sturridge had been playing for us midweek, they'd be cutting him down from the rope outside the Etihad now. He was one of the main reasons they lost.

How about Neil Lennon though? He looks like a promising player!

As I recall the Hughes regime allowed Sturridge's contract to run down below the 2 years. Once a player only has one year to run he has the whiphand provided he has talent of course. Sometimes a player plays shite in one club and then turns it on elsewhere. I got sick of Adebayor fannying around in a half arsed way, especially away from home. Now he's flying ( at the moment). There again I wouldn't have loaned him to fucking twitcher in the first place.

Danny was the best product of our accademy, who says, Jim Cassell and most people who watched him come through the ranks.
Danny never wanted to leave, nor was it down to him demanding silly money.
Him leaving as he did is down to hughes and nothing else, he never made any contract demands other than exactly the same as every other graduate moving up to the first team set up ( 23k plus bonus`s ).
The reason his contract ran down to less than a year was because every time an appointment was made to sort it out hughes canceled it, after 8 months of this at the first meeting hughes offered him 16k on a take it or leave it basis........he left it.
Then the fairy stories in the press started*, Danny requested the club to issue a statement putting the record straight, they defered it to hughes as manager, he refused but then offered the full contract.
The accademy staff almost got him to stay, telling him it was only a matter of time before the numpty was shown the door, but bad timing meant that the club issued a statement saying hughes job was safe, and there was no way Danny was going to stay with him in charge after the stories in the press routine.
So I say good luck to the lad, he did nothing wrong, and just because he is now at another club his talent is no less, and who knows, maybe he will come back one day.
If you dont like him or dont rate him, then thats your opinion, but dont base it on the load of bollocks the tafia leaked to the media.
* hughes M.O. with everyone who he percieved crossed him.

Every graduate who played a few games for the 1st team was getting 23k pw ? I don't believe you.
