Yeah, but what does it say? It took me a week and 12 crates of Stella to read the last one!

I always enjoy his blog but feel the need to sit in a dark room after reading it.

I don't really need to to be honest (although I will) as I think it's all 'Oh so yesterday' now. What I'm thinking is that we are going to make it within the regs anyway which will leave it obsolete. The regs were brought in to counter what we (and others) could do against the order, but if we are above it, what's the point.

Let's look at it a different way, if we're already winning things and knocking the likes of United, Chelsea and Arsenal further down the pecking order, what can they do to counter it? The answer is by bringing in better and more expensive players, therefore creating more and more debt for themselves. And if we're taking a bigger share of the market value it will soon lead to 'A Dog Chasing It's Tale' scenario making the regulations not fit for their purpose, probably leading to the mentioned breakaway European league.

It's all quite obvious when you look at the big picture and although a shame for such a club as ours a few years back, it's them who want to bring the ruling in, trying to leave us out, and it's them who will be hurt the most.

(cracks open another)

So much Stella and I wouldn't be able to tell the difference between McDonalds and Burger King.

Oh - I think that these FFP regs will be in for a long time to come and get more teeth. Whilst they were triggered to 'catch' the likes of us gatecrashing the trough rather than to prevent Portsmouth like scenarios, it looks like that we might have gone too hard and too fast for them and get away with it.

The travesty is for the rest of the clubs that might have attracted huge investment, e.g. everton and others - the boat has sailed and no team would now be allowed to 'do a CITY' - so the investment will probably not come. So the old G14 cartel are (in the main) protected - just that we become one of them (big sucess commercially and on the pitch still required for a few years though).

My eyes are too tired to squint at those low resolution screenshots, I wish he'd increase the resolution.

He proves we can meet the FFP regs for 2013/14. However we will need to start generating significantly higher revenue pretty quickly, meaning.......

CL is critical every year

The acadamy needs to produce some prifitable sales

The stadium will probably have to increase in size

Loads more lucrative commercial deal

And unfortunately, increased ticket prices

An interesting bit is that it helps us by not offering vinnie and Nigel new deals this year

Great read, most shocking bit is the estimation of Stuart Taylors wages at 40k/wk!

Half of that is a bonus for being the tallest player at the club

One of the things I find interesting is that it reinforces what had been happening in terms of matchday attendance. The regular seats are a small proportion of the total income and most of the growth is coming from other areas. This is one of the reasons why Gary Cook avoided massive increases in ticket prices, they aren't worth the hassle for us.
