We should stop knackering him out or asking him to do stuff he can't do & just let him play imo.

Enjoyed reading that. Top top quality player but I would agree he shouldnt be shackled with a defensive role.

Not that he can't play a more defensive role, but I think we need to ask him I be one or the other, and ATM he can do thing in an attacking sense that none of our other mids ( Milner, Barry, de Jong) are as suited to.

Good article, he seems genuinely enthused by the whole project and it's nice to see the admiration for his bro

124 - Yaya Touré today made more passes (124) than any other player in a PL game since Xabi Alonso (129 v Bolton) on 26/12/2008. Control.

Him and Barry dominated the midfield today as seems to be the norm, de Jong used to be so vital...having two midfielders who can get forward has made us a lot more balanced though.

About 20 mins into the first half when we were having trouble breaking them down, Yaya got the ball around the center circle and refused to play it forward to other teammates. He gestured at everyone else to come back and meet him to get the ball, forcing Norwich to come chase the back abd effectively dragging them out of their bunker. I think a large part of Mancini's trust in Yaya is his tactical awareness of the match and what team adjustments need to be done

On the OS Match Day Centre/Player Stats Section it states that Yaya completed 118 passes, Is that a mistake?! Madness. We're gonna miss him come African Nations Cup time. Very influential player.

Most of them were three feet to someone who tapped it straight back to him, so not surprising there's so many.

Absolutely right. He is a massive player for City in the way Mancini wants us to play and he will be hard to replace when he is away.Ran the game for us today.
