Someone has dragged up the old match thread, which makes it confusing, as I think these get periodically archived in the 'Classics' section.

I heard some of that, saying that they won't be playing a full 1st team. Also said that we were more interested in the Prem and will put that first and foremost. Good to see that he can read the papers.

A dose of Nige could be the ideal remedy for this particular problem; if they're expecting a bit of a friendly. Perhaps they won't fancy it.

Agreed. Its a dead rubber for Bayern so a loss to them means diddly squat, and tbh I'd sincerely hope we can beat a team playing for nowt on our own patch.

The problem we have is Villareal and the hope they will not want to go pointless - a draw is all we ask!! The spectre of Europa League Football is about as appealling as an Emmerdale Omnibus.

Yeah, if we go out of the CL by beating Bayern 3-0 I'll be disappointed but overall content. Would be a good first run just as long as we win this game

The more that is said like that the better. I get the feeling there are some big decisive factors for this game that add up to Bayern getting mullered. It doesn't matter to them and so why risk injuries. City being all but out I think will spark us to just play our game. I rekon that the player's pride was hurt with the poor performance after the goal in Munich, so I just sense that if they go ahead they just wont let up and I can't see Bayern having the fight on the night to try to hard to claw it back.

The team know it would do them good to beat Bayern. Good enough reason if you ask me, can't see the other game going our way... rekon Napoli will be 3-0 up by HT.
